Mountain City Coffeehouse & Creamery is one of my favorite locations in Frostburg. It's a perfect place to grab a hot coffee on a cold winter day. If you're not busy, you might discover that you need more than just coffee!
The vegetarian specials they provide are a wonderful change of pace from the usual eats around town. I tried the kale grilled cheese with potato and leek soup, and let me tell you, not only was it the best grilled cheese I've had in recent memory, its also the best way to eat kale in recent memory! Seriously, I am not a kale eater, but it really added some flavor to the sammie! I owe you an apology, kale!
The baked goods available are also great for a quick bite. I'm scone-crazy now, and unfortunately there's no known cure... except for more scones.
The staff is very courteous, welcoming, and friendly! They might know more about me than my coworkers at aldi do. Yes, I work for aldi. You can find out more about me from the various reviews I leave! I'll try to write more! And the interior atmosphere here (the coffee shop, not aldi) is cozy and warm (unlike aldi, which is dark and cold).
Sconeage aside, this really is a great place. Whether you're a coffee-drinker, scone-demolisher, or vegetarian-searcher trapped in a gauntlet of meat, Mountain City Coffeehouse & Creamery has you covered. Pop in and see...
Read moreWe stopped here with another couple while biking the GAP trail. I am normally positive in my reviews but the food was overpriced and the staff were rude. My wife ( my business bookkeeper) was confused about the total amount and asked them about it - they were not interested in helping her figure out why the total was higher than she thought. Well, then our food never arrived. When my wife asked about it, one of the employees came over and said that since we questioned the amount, the ticket got dropped and so they found it on the floor - so our food was delayed. I responded (in sarcasm) "I understand - It was totally our fault!" She seemed to be happy with my response. (not detecting the total sarcasm) I give two stars (rather than one) because it was raining and we got out of the rain! The only positive part of our experience (Oh - they seem to overly friendly to...
Read moreWe stopped here by chance on our way back home from a trip to Morgantown, and we were pleasantly surprised. We asked the woman working about their vegan food options, and she was was very helpful. They made us the roasted veggie panini with hummus. They also had a vegan butternut squash soup, and they had a veggie burger, which they offered to make with hummus instead of cheese. They have almond, soy, coconut, and oat milk options. It wasn't the best food I've ever had, but I was really grateful to have options and a knowledgeable staff member who was happy to accommodate us. If you're vegan or vegetarian, I'd highly recommend this spot for...
