This was my first visit to Frostburg and I had seen that it looked like they had an honest to goodness diner, so I wanted to check it out. I was not disappointed. My travel companion and I fell in love with the atmosphere and the incredibly friendly staff. The food was excellent, cooked properly and well seasoned. Prices were very reasonable. The old school booths were a little much for us, so we moved to the counter, but again, the atmosphere and the service were a delight. I had the chicken imperial because I had a feeling they would do it well. My intuition was correct! Tender chicken, perfectly seasoned, topped with a modest portion of really flavorful crab imperial. The grilled broccoli and mashed potatoes I had to go with it were lovely and as comforting as comfort food gets. My travel companion had the turkey with stuffing and green beans and baked potato, which were definitely to her liking. She was also enamored with the rolls, which are sourced from a local bakery. All in all, it couldn't have been more charming. They had a row of old Mason jars and other memorabilia above the serving area and we were both taken by how clean they were. Attention to detail and friendly service combined to make a wonderful dining experience. Pair that with really reasonable prices and a great location and I can't recommend them highly enough if you find yourself in...
Read moreTerrible! We took the train from Cumberland and we were one of the first groups of people in the restaurant for lunch. The waitress immediately came over and gave us menus and drinks (forgot my husbands which is fine but I’ll get to this in a min) and took our order within 5 mins of sitting down. Things seemed great. Until the restaurant started to fill up. I’m not sure what or when it went wrong but 20 mins passed, 30 mins passed, 40 mins and we still didn’t have our food. Our waitress didn’t stop by to see how things were OR even notice that my husband didn’t get his drink yet. All the tables of locals around us were getting served BUT us and it seemed all the people from our train ride. Finally after 45 mins we walked to the front to ask what was going on and were told sorry we are doing our best……hmm. Not sure i would even say the food is good or bad. We had to have it packed up because it took an hour to get served and by the time I could eat it was cold. The customer service was the worst. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Especially if you are on a time crunch to get back to the train. Find somewhere else that cares about...
Read moreGreat food and great pricing. Restaurant is bigger than it looks. Staff are very friendly and they do a great job of keeping everything cleaned. Food was served in a very timely manner. Not so fast that you feel rushed but not so long as to make you wonder where it's at. The booths were a rather tight fit for myself. I'm 6'4" 260 for reference. Those that are smaller than myself may find them comfortable. Those who are bigger like myself would most likely be more comfortable using the stools at the counter or the tables on the other side of the restaurant. Regardless, I would definitely recommend the Princess Restaurant to those looking for a local and affordable yet delicious meal with great service and great staff. To my knowledge They do not serve alcohol so those looking for a drink with their meal may want to go elsewhere. However, you'd be missing out. Also if I'm wrong about the service of alcohol, please feel free to lmk and I'll try to edit this so that it's correct...
