My dad drove a Continental and I’ve wanted one for years, probably will find one to restore as a midlife thing, but for now I’ll enjoy the nostalgia. I like my drinks like my cars, Classic.
I’m not positive, but I can’t think of any other OC bars that are older than this. Something like in the 1920’s and still serving drinks. Way before the area was filled with college kids looking to party in DTF. Plenty of booth’s. It still has that dark, red light, smoke lounge sort of feel which is in opposition to the whole cover charge and party kids you’ll sometimes find in here on the weekends or after 8pm some nights
The staff used be straight up old guys behind the bar sticking to their bag of tricks, but they gradually changed seeing the area move away from that. They stay pretty true to things with dress and décor, but just the crowd has changed. Back patio is cool. having 1 TV is not, why even have one. Back to the sweet stuff and way more beers, lots of people figuring things out. It’s no longer a place you’ll see tons of regulars and you still have that weekend crowd. Nothing against Elvis night, but as much as I can appreciate him/his music, he has his time and place. I actually prefer coming here in the day time for a beer and chatting with the bartenders, not because I don’t prefer a cocktail, but it almost takes some time to earn their trust. Eventually they get an old fashioned right.
I like stopping in from time to time, long enough for no one to...
Read moreIf I could leave 0 stars I would. The staff is so rude. They served last call at 1:45am and expected people to finish their drinks by 1:50am even though the place closes at 2am. The bouncer made my friend throwaway her drink that she paid $15 for. And told my other friend who was trying to finish his drink that he doesn’t “see him walking out one foot in-front of the other” when it was only 1:50am. My friend was very respectful, as we work in hospitality, and complied. When I confronted him, he said it’s not his problem because he clocked out prior to 2am. The manager was rude and emphasized that no one can have a drink in the establishment at 2am when, again, it was 1:50am and he decides when it closes. Then, they degraded me by assuming I was drinking when I was actually sober. I brought up that they had horrible hospitality, and they said they are not a hospitality establishment. The manager and bouncer who was wearing a grey suit (allegedly named Michael) should both be fired and are a disgrace to the hospitality field. I 100% don’t recommend...
Read moreI am a legally blind person and usually the bouncers are very helpful and very kind. Last night I met a bouncer and try to direct me swords toward some stairs and put some hands on me and try to push me towards the front door. This is totally unacceptable. You never put your hands on a blind person and you never push them in any direction. This bouncer clearly does not know how to deal with a disabled person. Other than this one bouncer the club is a great place to go with this one bouncer needs to learn how to respect disabled people. I hope management reads this and gives this one bouncer the training he needs in order to do his job. Otherwise I will have to take action On my own. I hope I don’t have to do this for both the bouncer sake and...
