My friend had the hankerings for this combination: Hot Chocolate and Churros!? I knew that request would be hard to find at one single place (Carl's had hot chocolate, but no churros, and Jack Box had churros, but not hot chocolate)! So I decided to try the 'All-Everything' Denny's that I fondly remember from my youth, and this spot was recently just built, so I thought it would be the perfect place . . . IT WASN'T! Upon arrival, it was so pleasing to the eye on the outside, and the interior looked just as good; there was only one other booth of patrons when we walked in, and we were seated immediately! In no time, our waitress arrived, and I asked her the inevitable question --- she frowned and said yes to the hot chocolate, but no to the churros. So I quickly ordered the warm drink to ease the cocoa-craving-pangs of my dear friend. And in no time, the drink came and it looked pretty: topped with a dainty pillow of whipped cream! By then, I had talked my guest into eating some waffles (which were as close as she was going to get to the cinnamony, chewy brown-sugared treat she desired). Thus, the order was placed. And as my friend sipped her drink, I looked at it, and in my view the consistency of the drink was quite thin. Even she said it didn't even taste like "Real Homemade Hot Chocolate!" OH NO . . . don't tell me, of all places, Denny's has the audacity to serve the powdered-envelopey concoction! NO!!! At that time, our server came back and informed us of this: "I'm sorry, our waffle machine is broke!" Can you friggin' believe that --- on a Saturday at 7pm, with the busiest Denny's breakfast serving day coming in less than 12 hours on Sunday morning, the (ONE AND ONLY) waffle iron in the joint is inoperable! #GEEZZ At that point, I didn't even bother to mention, the water-based hot chocolate --- I dropped a $5 bill on the table for the $4+ brown fluid, and we skedaddled outta that place! This restaurant was right next to a Burger King that just closed down, and the experience we had at that burger joint was just as similar as this fiasco of their former neighbor . . . so don't be surprise if this place isn't around long considering this is the type of service given! Hence, we won't be back here. But I haven't giving up on Denny's just yet. But if many restaurants are wondering "WHY' people are choosing not to eat out anymore --- all you have to do is just read this...
Read moreI always try to be nice and lenient when it comes to customer service because I know it can get overwhelming, but this place not only did I receive bad service but I left really upset from this Denny's. The only reason I stayed and ate here was because my family and I were really hungry and didn't want to have to drive and look for another place. Our server was rude and very impatient while we were trying to order making us hurry. After placing our order instead of putting it in he walked to another table party of 6 and started taking their order where he took another 10 mins to even submit our order. When he brought our drinks he forgot my wife's drink and when I told him about it and also asked for creamer for my coffee he just said "OK I'll bring it right now" and walked away. I waited about 10 mins to even taste my coffee waiting for the creamer. He must've been upset at us because after waiting and waiting he finally brought the food about 25 mins later, unfortunately it was the food for the party of 6 which had placed their order after us. Btw, at our table it was only my daughter's, my wife and myself, I would've understood if we had a bigger party but that wasn't the case. I was very upset at this point I found myself obligated to complain to the manager and as soon as I did that the rude server went and grabbed our food, which leads me to believe he skipped us in purpose. With out any exaggeration, from the moment we arrived to the moment we got our food was nearly an hour (even though we decided on our order while waiting to be seated, to save time). The manager didn't do much except go check on our order, no apology at all. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. I advice you to look around, there's about 3 other Denny's locations not too far from this one, if you want a decent experience don't go here! You've...

Free Grand Slam
Line dancing works up quite the appetite, especially when dancing for 4+ hours. While spending my birthday (and usually every Friday night) dancing at InCahoots, I searched for the nearest Denny's, and whaddaya know? Why, there's one the next main street over on Harbor!
Leaving InCahoots a little before 11:30pm, I arrived at Denny's, awaiting a Build Your Own Slam consisting of 4 eggs overeasy, hashbrowns & 2 bacon. The attendant was friendly and I didn't wait long before my Slam presented itself. I hastily asked if I could be rung up right away, in order to avoid midnight approaching, as it would be September 1. I was assured I need not worry, as my meal would be free, regardless.
As usual, Denny's Build Your Own Slam hit the spot. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon crispy with a little chewiness & the hashbrowns crispy on the outside and the fluffy interior easily sopped up all the delicious egg yolk from my overeasy eggs.
Service was good. As previously stated, my attendant was friendly & hospitable. Ample seating for groups large and small.
Parking is via a private lot. Denny's is located across the street from In N' Out.
Can't say no to breakfast for late dinner, especially when it's free! Denny's is an annual tradition for me on my birthday, and I hope they never get rid of the free Grand Slam promo. No complaints from Denny's here.
Highly...
