I’m a repeat customer who comes here very often since it opened a while back. I have to say, I was disgusted by the rudeness and horrific attitude displayed by my female server 8/11 at opening time and I felt it was necessary to leave a warning.
Everything was fine until we ordered, where we ordered all brisket instead of the typical set as we don’t eat pork. This is something my family has often done, and we have had no problem with until now. When our server came back, it was the standard set instead of the alternate set we requested. No problem, I let our server know. However, she vehemently denied hearing me say that, and told us that she couldn’t change the meat. She did give us the brisket substitute later begrudgingly, but she kept lecturing our party on how it was our mistake she was cleaning up over.
Later, when we asked for refills on the side, she told us that they were out. We went there as soon as they opened (11:30am), yet we set that aside until we saw her give a refill of the exact same side dish we asked for.
When it came to paying the check, our guest attempted to pay, as our family was invited by them to the meal as a congratulations for my graduation. However, our server brought the check directly to me, saying that I should be the one to pay it. I was flustered but fumbled around for my money, and she kept denying our acquaintance’s card. Later, when I received the check back, I saw that they did not give me the 5% cash discount that they ALWAYS give if you pay in cash (which I confirmed with the server).
I want to end this by saying the food here is amazing and the service has been great until now. I would usually have no problem paying otherwise, but this server almost assuredly pushed me to pay as I had upset her.
This place was the go-to for family and friends to meet up for any occasion. Now, I doubt we’ll be back.
(If anybody is thinking of going, please beware this waitress. We were seated across from the seats on the far right corner,...
Read moreWe were genuinely excited to visit this restaurant for naengmyeon and galbi, especially after having a great experience at their Garden Grove location. This visit didn’t disappoint. The restaurant had a lively atmosphere and was still buzzing with customers even after the typical lunch rush, which speaks volumes about its popularity.
The wait staff were warm, attentive, and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. We ordered the mul-naengmyeon and galbi combo, which came with a modest but well-prepared set of side dishes—including crisp white kimchi and sweet and tangy shredded radish, both of which complemented the meal nicely.
The mul-naengmyeon was refreshing and enjoyable, though I found it to be a bit overloaded with ice, which made the broth a little too cold for my liking and even caused some discomfort to my teeth. The flavor of the broth was decent but seemed to be missing a depth of richness I’ve experienced at more traditional naengmyeon spots. I would personally recommend opting for naengmyeon without crushed ice, which many authentic restaurants now offer. The galbi was tender and well-grilled, though slightly on the sweet side for my taste. The bibim-naengmyeon that came as a sari (extra noodle option) also leaned sweet, which may appeal to some, but I prefer a spicier, more tangy flavor profile.
A pleasant surprise was the small dish of bindaetteok (mung bean pancake) that was brought to the table. It wasn’t something we ordered, so we were a bit confused at first—along with the sari—but it turned out to be a thoughtful touch. That gesture, along with the overall hospitality, made me feel that the owner and management genuinely care about their customers. The service was exemplary, the pricing was fair, and though there were small things I would tweak, it’s clear this restaurant values quality and customer...
Read moreI was excited to see the sign go up recently and eagerly anticipated the opening of this popular restaurant’s second location. I was there at opening on a Friday (their third day of operations) and there was already a line and parties on the virtual Yelp queue. I was seated a short time later and was impressed with the interior decor and layout. (I’d been to the former restaurant that occupied the space and they definitely did a nice improvement!) I splurged and ordered the rib and cold noodle combo and was not disappointed! The ribs were perfectly cooked and tender and the noodles were chewy and light. (For those wondering why there are two bowls of noodles, with every order of the cold noodles, you get a small extra bowl of them. You can choose the bibim or broth version or do what I did which was order the bibim with a side of broth.) Service was friendly and attentive. *Note on side dishes: if you only order a naengmyun dish, you get 3 side dishes. If you order other dishes you’ll get the full range which includes 2-3 more.
This location has a large parking lot which is part of the AR Mart center, so that should be less of an issue than at the GG location.
Also note that this is not an AYCE restaurant. It’s clear they pride themselves on high quality meats and not just quantity. If you order a meat combo, it comes with a soup and steamed egg and side dishes.
Wishing the restaurant much success and hoping the waits won’t be as long with this...
