Salt & Pepper Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Fullerton

My partner loves diners so we decided to give this one a try for Sunday brunch time. When we walked in, we were told to seat ourselves. Took 15/20 minutes to get menus and for any of the many servers to come greet us at the table. Already started off bad. Server asked if anyone took our drink order and we said no. She then proceeded to pass off our drink order to a different worker and there was a tad mixup on drinks but that happens sometimes. She then proceeded to blame the worker and tried to make a “joke” about saying it in English and Spanish to him so he can understand. The drinks all tasted flat and water tasted dirty. My kids rarely drink soda. So they were excited about this treat but were sadly disappointed. My partner ordered a breakfast platter with biscuits and gravy and did not receive the biscuits and gravy. Kindly let the waitress know and she said she was going to grab it. Never came back not to check on us or anything. She just stood behind the counter doing who knows what. Food was average, I’ll give them that. Waitress finally Came back to hand us the bill and never mentioned the biscuits and gravy. We were excited about this diner but were sadly disappointed with the service and atmosphere. This place used to be a decent restaurant . It has gone down hill fast. The food is of low quality and it tastes like cardboard. Food tastes like it's been frozen, then defrosted, then frozen again. Definitely it is not fresh food. This place hires illegal immigrants to bus tables, as dish washers, and as chefs, and I've seen them spit in the food. The restrooms are disgusting. I'm surprised the health department hasn't shut this place down. The restrooms are gang graffitied and are always filthy. There are crackheads and homeless people always hanging out in the parking lot. Gang members hang out in this place despite the fact that cops in uniform eat here everyday. People get drunk and out of control at the bar and when there are big sporting events. There is always trash under the tables and old food between the seat cushions in the booths. It takes forever for someone to take your order and forever for them to serve it to you. This place is not worth what they charge for the food and the service they provide. Service was slow but the food was really bad. I ordered boneless chicken dinner and the baked potato was under baked because the middle was fine and soft but the rest of the potato was still very hard, which by the way what kind of baked potato cooks from the inside out? The only thing I know that cooks the middle first is a microwave. Also the chicken was boneless so I thought maybe I would get a breast but no. The menu said the chicken comes with Italian dressing poured all over the chicken so I ordered it without Italian dressing and oh boy now I know why they put it on, the chicken was very dry. Also the meal says it comes with VEGGIES with an S, but we only got a cup of green beans which by the way had no flavor, was very bland. Every time I've seen veggies on a menu it's almost always some kind of mixed veggies like broccoli, carrots etc. but this was only green beans, they should at least put that on the menu instead of the word veggies. The garlic cheese bread was very greasy but I can say the salad was very fresh, cold and good.
