DO NOT GO! It’s SoCal! Tons of BETTER Mexican style food! Also they have increased their prices BUT it’s not shown on menu. The prices displayed are NOT accurate. You’ll see once you are charged way more than shown after the fact.
This place is a hole in the wall run down place that charges more or as much as a real restaurant where your taco or burrito comes with TWO sides and table service! OVER $15 for a greasy burrito and nearly $2 extra to add cheese to that. That’s just insane for a cheap run down place. Can’t sit inside because it’s gross. Can’t sit outside because homeless people and on a major street. Parking lot isn’t even safe yet these prices are on par with actual nice places?? The staff never know what they are talking about either. I asked if they had a burrito that has beans and cheese with chicken. Apparently that confused the hell out of the girl taking my order. “Sorry we don’t have anything like that”. I said excuse me you don’t have ANY burrito that has beans, cheese and chicken?? “No sorry we don’t have that”. Wait so you don’t have a burrito, thats chicken, that has or you can add beans and cheese too?? “No we don’t but we have a chicken burrito that has beans”. Like my goodness!!!! Who put you taking orders. That’s when I was told it’s nearly $2 extra to add that cheese and also depending on grilled or shredded chicken there is now another up charge. I don’t understand how a place that is a casual, greasy food, not in an expensive area, no place to actual eat the food they offer, comes close in tacky packaging, can start charging so much like they are upscale or even just decently nice restaurant?? Also for some reason the fries are never actually fried. I’ve had them a few times and have to toss them. You maybe get like one or two that are crunchy then the rest are just potatoes laid in oil and not cooked. Oh and best part is that drive thru takes a good 20 mins sometimes. I used to like this place because it was a well what do you expect it’s a hole in the wall kind of vibe. But lying basically by hiding the new prices and the staff that is just so clueless, I can’t anymore. The least you can do is be HONEST about your pricing. I don’t think it should be months until you update your prices to what you’re actually charging. This...
Read moreI pick up food for my family at least once a month. It’s not cheap. I always need help to carry the food out to the car.
I had ordered the enchilada plate & it was served in a styrofoam container inside a bag. The top of container kept popping open. It did not seem steady enough to be carrying. I asked for a box. The stiffed neck older lady told me “No”.
The other food were all packed in a box.
The elder lady with stiff neck offered to help take box to my vehicle. She says to me (something like this), “Hurry up. Move it. Just you and me. Let’s go.”
I told her I will leave when I am good and ready. I am in no hurry.
There are only vehicles in the parking lot. We pass one vehicle walking towards my vehicle & she says, “Where are we walking to?” I look at her in bewilderment because obviously if we didn’t walk to the first car, by process of elimination, it would come to reason that the second vehicle would be mine. She says to me, “You don’t like to be kidded around (or something similar) & I told her she did not know me to speaking to me in that manner.”
I open the passenger’s door & I place food inside and she tells me, “Try and have a good day”. I answered, “I know I will.”
I should’ve known when I first went in, there was something wrong with young lady at the register.
I told her I wanted 2 carne asada burritos. I’m not done ordering yet & she’s repeating back to me street tacos. Street tacos? Who said anything about street tacos? I tell her can you hear me ok? She tells me to please repeat what I said. I want 2 carne asada burritos. Will that be all? No. I have an order to place & I will tell you when I am done ordering.
It was a totally bad vibe from when I walked in until I left.
I told my family I will not be returning to this...
Read moreIt's good to see that this little food shop found a niche that works for them. They seem also to be employing a very effective business model.
Their niche? Serving Mexican food.
Their business model? 1: Serving the best Mexican food this side of Mexico while keeping their prices moderate and their portions dangerously ginormous. 2: Employing out-going hard-working people who know their business and who are always quick with a joke or a friendly greeting.
The first time I came here I ordered two chicken tacos for lunch on the advice of a buddy. Two?! Just two?! He was correct – TWO chicken tacos filled me up.
There is a huge, extensive menu hanging right above the cash registers, but I didn’t feel the need to read it for at least two years after that first lunch. And it’s not because the big menu is written in Spanish – I can read Spanish fine. I just automatically ordered two shredded chicken tacos with everything on a hard shall, every time I went, and life was good.
Then came unexpected change. I believe it was at the advice of the cashier that day that I broke routine. I was called out for being boring and was urged to try something new.
I ordered a California Burrito.
Those of you who know, know. The rest of you go order one. I don’t want to spoil anything so I will finish this review once everybody...
