I have been a regular at this place however my last experience was so disappointing I do not see myself ever returning. My sister already left a review but there has been an update. So my boyfriend was driving in from LA so he placed an order over two hours before closing with a pick up time for when he would be arriving which was still over an hour before closing. He got there and the food hadn’t been made. It was three bowls. In fact they were out of ALL rice, both brown and white. Asked if salad base would be ok… that has to be a joke. So reluctantly he asked for a refund, which took a lot of time. They even spoke to someone on the phone to resolve it, was grabbing his phone without consent and everything. Supposedly they refunded him… well It has been well over a week and they NEVER REFUNDED HIM LOL After keeping him there for so long to refund him. HUH He had to dispute it with the bank. Crazy to me and really disappointing No rice at a poke place hours before closing was crazy enough but then not actually refunding him for three whole bowls we never got is insane This was on a Thursday night...
Read moreI came here to try it the other day for the first time since they've been open and it was pretty empty. Their drink machines did not have the correct drinks in them unfortunately. The food itself tastes perfectly fine. But where they are lacking are the options for their bowls. They are pretty stingy with their scoops. An unlike many other Pokey restaurants out there, they charge extra for things that come standard at other poke places. For the price I pay to get a bowl there I expect to get all the toppings included. I understand paying extra for avocado but to charge extra per scoop of the imitation crab is ridiculous. That is standard at most other places as one of the toppings. Also charging extra for seaweed or masago is crazy because again most other places include that in the price. I would rather go to another restaurant and pay the same price but get more food. Again let me emphasize that the food here tastes perfectly fine. There's nothing wrong with the taste. It was delicious. But again this review is based on how they scooped their food and how they...
Read moreFirst time visiting here and last time. Hate to be negative but I must have had a trainee make my bowls! Two proteins for regular bowl and he had a hard time understanding me and gave very small protein portions. I came here because a previous reviewer said “big healthy portions given here” ahhhh not the case! I was also asked to give a review for a free spam musubi, but I didn’t try the food yet????? The bowls and added ingredients were awful tasting. They don’t even have sesame oil as an ingredient????? And not fresh Ahi, its color is frozen light pink. Fresh Ahi is a deep, dark, red color!!!
I have yet to find authentic Hawaii poke. Which consists of Fresh, not previously frozen Ahi, shoyu, green onions, limu and sesame seed oil. Add Shoyu and red pepper 🌶️ for the hot variety!
Anyone who is opening a poke place should be required to visit Hawaii before they open one!!!!
This place was...
