This place is 10/10, a must try in the Fullerton-Brea area!!
May be some of the best pho in Orange County.
Atmosphere: this place is very clean, adorable and modern. As other reviewers said, the music is very nice; they play guitar covers of modern pop songs. It is definitely a hole in the wall (the kind where you discover before it becomes famous).
Service: Our waiter (Calvin) was very friendly and knew the answers to our questions right away. He even offered recommendations when he saw my partner debating. We decided to share the house pho and special vermicelli and our waiter brought out extra dishes so we could share easier.
Food: we ordered 3 dishes (fresh rolls aka pork spring rolls, house pho, and special vermicelli). The fresh rolls were quite tasty, but I would have preferred a bit more vermicelli noodles to balance out the leafy greens. We requested the shrimp be removed from the vermicelli and they adjusted to give us more egg roll and pork. The perfectly crispy egg rolls were super tasty and slightly different from the typical egg roll... they also serve their fish sauce different (its less fishy and more spice/garlicky). The meat was very thin and tinder with a good amount of smoky char. The vermicelli was also perfectly cooked. The pho was the star of the show. The broth was so satisfying. They had just the right amount of saltiness and the meat and noodles were perfectly cooked. We also ordered a Thai tea. It was much bigger than expected. Theirs is on the sweeter side, but not as sweet as many boba places. The sweetness matches very well with the saltiness of the pho.
Recently, I took my family here from NorCal. They absolutely loved it and even ordered food for...
Read moreWORST PHO & EXPERIENCE EVER! My $35 lobster pho was so full of grease I couldn't even taste the broth. I spoke with the owner (who was very definsive) she said the oil is from the beef bones they make the broth with. If I want pho with no oil in it, I have to order pho with no oil in it. I've eaten pho at many restaurants over the years and have never been told that...but okay. I continued on to tell her at the bottom of my broth I found chicken pieces and I have photos. I am a pescatarian so I only eat seafood, naturally I was very dissatisfied. She told me that's a problem from the kitchen because it would be cross-contamination and she began to yell at her kitchen staff. I was told no refunds are offered (I didn't ask for one anyway) and what would I like her to do about it. My response was, "what would you normally do if somebody orders a $35 bowl of soup from you and is this dissatisfied?" She offered to remake it. I let her know I'll come another day because my stomach was too upset to come back that day. Today was REDEMPTION DAY and I ordered my pho with NO OIL please. To my surprise it was even worse than the 1st time. There was an inch thick layer of grease sitting on top of the broth with questionable ingredients floating within. My lobster tail was unclean and when I deshelled it the entire vein of its entrails came out attached to the tail. 🤮 I highly do not recommend...
Read moreFinally visited Pho A'mie w a mama friend on a Tuesday for lunch 04.02.23 Wanted some pho for my coughs & had Pho A'mie on my radar for quite some time. Cute Vietnamese w a French fusion restaurant. Decor was really cute yet simple. With some history of pho chalk art on wall. Service was great, friendly & attentive. Associates Kept coming to check in on us, asked how we were doing with our food. We received our food pretty fast.
What we ordered:
~ special combo Pho with added Rib Eye Bone was good. There's only one size of pho. Lots of noodles and the bowl can actually be shared. The rib eye was so tender, meat literally fell off the bone. Broth was clean & good. One of a local pho place that's good. ~ Shrimp Sautée w Garlic noodles were yummy. Shrimp was huge good size & noodles were good flavoring along w shrimp. Wasn't spicy at all. Served in a sizzling plated cast iron like skillet.
They have Brick macaron ice cream sandwiches here.
I was in Placentia/Fullerton area for errands. Located in the same plaza as Pepe's & Our Nest brunch spot. A few doors down. Lots of parking available.
Definitely recommended. They offer banh mi too. I'll be back to try out other stuff on their menu...
