Fairy's Cuisine?!🌸 LA's Most Aesthetic Yet Affordable Japanese Eats 🥢🍣🍶

It's been a while since I've been here and I had forgotten how DELICIOUS their food is here! I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the rest of the ramen my family ordered, but what I can say is that they finished every last drop of their ramen orders! This is going to be a detailed review of the food, service, and atmosphere. Let's start with the atmosphere. The restaurant is a cozy place with table seating and bar seating. It gets packed really quickly during dinner time, but we came right before the rush. We were also flexible with seating and opted to sit at the bar. We were greeted by a happy & nice young lady. She seated us at the bar and got us all waters right away. She gave us enough time to choose our items and took our orders. The food was ready and served fairly quickly. My husband and I ordered the cold eggplant as our appetizer. It was amazing! The eggplant was perfectly cooked and the sauce nice a complimented all the flavors of the sweet eggplant. This was a cold dish and was so refreshing for a hot summer day. 10 out of 10 - would highly recommend. I ordered their cold ramen which is only available during the summer until the end of August. There was an option for spicy or now, and of course I opted for spicy! The ramen came with some pork char sui, soft boiled egg, and kimchi. Perfect combination! I sprinkled a little extra fine pepper flakes and it was the perfect level of spiciness for me. It appears that everyone else enjoyed their bowl of ramen because I was not able to take a picture of their food before they devoured it all! (Sorry!) 😬😁 I hope that they extend the summer ramen special until the end of September! It was so refreshing! I'm still dreaming about it....

I'm a firm believer in the power of comfort food and What's Up, with its bustling yet homey atmosphere, captures the essence of this beautifully. My partner and I managed to snag a couple of seats at the bar. Despite the high energy and numerous patrons, the staff were nothing short of attentive and efficient. I settled on the Ramen and Spicy Tuna Bowl lunch combo, while my partner opted for the Spicy Ramen and Gyoza lunch combo. The real standout was, without a doubt, the Spicy Tuna Bowl and the gyoza. With a generous lunch portion that justified its cost, this was a dish that balanced flavors with finesse. The tuna was tender, with the spice adding a kick that elevated it from good to great. I'd be remiss if I didn't take a moment to appreciate the Gyoza. The skin had the ideal bite – a gratifying slight resistance that gave way to the luscious filling inside. As for the filling itself, it was flavor-packed and had a beautiful texture that made each bite an exciting experience. On the other hand, the Ramen, particularly the Tonkotsu Shoyu I ordered, was pleasant but the broth, though well-prepared, left me yearning for a richer flavor that never quite came. My partner's Spicy Ramen and the Gyoza, however, carried their own with distinctive flavors and textures. In spite of my critique, our overall experience was a delightful one. The food, ambience, and service coalesced into an afternoon well spent. Would I return? Absolutely. Maybe next time the Ramen will rise up to the star power of the Spicy Tuna Bowl and Gyoza.

Went here last night and although the Ramen here is great (that's the 1 star) the servers here doesn't know what they are doing when it comes to sitting arrangements. I even offered my help to move a specific tables because besides us who have 7 people in our party there are also others who are waiting in which has a bigger party than us and one of the party have kids who are waiting outside in cold weather.

They have put these two couples that are ahead of us for a min or two on a table that fits 6 people. They have other 2 groups that are one table apart. So the tables in between those would pretty much be useless because you can't sit any one there without having another party of two. So I have asked them to get those tables they aren't using and rearrange it so that bigger Party can sit.

They told me they aren't allowed to move specific tables. So you know what? I back off because I don't want to create any drama or trouble...

However after 30 mins of waiting, they ended up doing what I have suggested them to do. What?!?! Are you kidding me?!? So since my friends and I are hungry we just decided to eat and get the heck out of there once we are done so others won't suffer the way that we did. I did enjoyed the ramen though, but not the experience. In order for me to go back and recommend to others, I have to have good experience while enjoying the food and apparently I didn't have a good experience...
