Moe's Original BBQ — Restaurant in Gadsden

The restaurant was clean and decorated very well. It’s hard to rate service as we ordered at the window and met a server halfway across the restaurant to get our food. Wife ordered a pulled chicken sandwich, collard greens, and baked beans, I had. Ribs, collard greens and Mac and cheese. The wife’s sandwich was quite soggy and she would have preferred the slaw on the side although we didn’t ask as we didn't know that’s how it came. We both agreed the collards were a bit vinegary as well as lots of stems and the baked beans were a bit mushy and the Mac and cheese, like all sides were cold. The cheese on top of the Mac and cheese was just a glob of cheese that had melted at some point but had congealed again and it was a bit bland. The ribs were cooked very nicely but I would have preferred to add the sauce myself as I like to taste the pork before saucing. The sauce being all the way across the restaurant is inconvenient but I get it. Overall, not a great experience although we wish you well in the future. I saw this on Google when I was in the area and was wondering why there weren't many reviews and found out it was new, so I had to check it out.

Moe's is a laid-back family atmosphere well-suited to the local culture. Some good classic rock was playing and the staff were very kind and courteous. Honestly for what it's worth the staff they have is really good. They seemed a mote understaffed but that's expected of a new restaurant. The food was well worth the wait!

I had the pulled pork sandwich with their original sauce and it was savory, juicy and delicious! They have a unique feature where they have daily side specials. The day I went they had some homemade stew and Mac n cheese and goodness it was heavenly!

Wanted some BBQ and i didnt even know this little gem was here. I ordered over the phone for pick up. My order was ready fast. I came on a Monday after 4. It wasnt busy but the restaurant was very clean, the atmosphere welcoming, and i was met with smiles from the staff. I ordered the lg. Rib platter with potato salad and mac n cheese. The ribs were smoked to perfection!!! They honestly dont need sauce but the red sauce complimented them well. I was not gonna get the cornbread but PLEASE don't omit it. It was delicious!!!! 😋 The sides were good. I even got some banana pudding that was spot on to satisfy the sweet tooth. Overall for the first experience, they get a 4.8 from me.
