We visited Daddy Joe's on March 18, 2017. It was fairly busy, so there was a short wait. We decided to wait for our table in the bar. My husband requested a Guinness beer and was told that they were out of Guinness and that they had run out on Thursday. Well, that seemed odd to us because St. Patrick's Day was Friday. After about 15 minutes, we were seated and ordered our food. The salads came first and one of our friends had asked for oil and vinegar. What he received was a small container full of cloudy oil with no vinegar. The waitress was really busy and seemed to not understand when he asked for some vinegar to go with the oil for his salad. She brought back more of the cloudy oil about 10 minutes later. By this time one of our other friends offered him her left over balsamic dressing. When our meals arrived, my order was incorrect. I had ordered shrimp and fish and had fish and chicken on my plate. The fried chicken was very dark brown, too hard and salty. I did however have the cocktail sauce on my plate with the honey mustard, but no tarter sauce for the fish. A little confusing, but whatever... I didn't want to wait for the shrimp. Our friend with the vinegar issue didn't receive his meal and was told that they were out of ribs and that he had to order something different. So, he had to wait while we ate our meals, but that was ok because he finally had the dressing for his salad. The waitress was apologetic and was friendly, which was why I did not give our experience 2 stars instead of 3. I'm not convinced that we will ever revisit Daddy Joe's Beach House BBQ. Maybe for takeout if they do in fact have the ribs and BBQ which they are...
Read moreI would like to say this is a hidden jewel of a restaurant but that's not the case as it has a few thousand reviews already. We arrived on a Saturday night at 6:30PM busy time we were seated in a timely manner. The waitress arrived at our table within a couple of minutes to take drink orders. From this point on we witnessed some of the best customer service from all their employees with customers we have seen in a long time. We were never out of tea our waitress would check on all her tables every time she brought something out. The floor managers I would assume both of those ladies would walk to each table and ask how was everything (twice during our meal). I witnessed one of them personally bring a appetizer to the table next to us and comp the appetizer for them as she said it should have not taken that long which we thought was within a reasonable time. My point is you can eat at a restaurant and have bad service and it ruins the whole experience and makes the meal terrible. But with excellent service the meal just taste that much better. Now our meals were over the moon in taste and pourtions. Most everyone we saw had to go boxed. This will be one that we will be returning to more often as they have every aspect on how to treat customers and prepare...
Read moreDelicious! Highly recommended.
I saw a review that gave 1 star because someone on the staff was perpetuating "deep seated gender stereotypes". I thought that was a dumb reason to leave a bad review and because I am obstinate, I decided I needed to go eat here.
The staff was both pleasant and professional. They moved like a well oiled machine. Every drink filled. Every order taken. Every plate served. Every table cleaned.
The hushpuppies. Oh the hushpuppies. Good hushpuppies are becoming harder and harder to find. Fortunately, Daddy Joe's is keeping the dream alive. If you've never had a good hushpuppy this is the place to go and find out what they're supposed to taste like. My mother ate so many hushpuppies she couldn't finish her sandwich and I've never heard her say anything good about any other hushpuppy.
The pulled pork sandwich was truly exceptional. Hands down, the best barbecue pork sandwich I've ever had. Where other places use their side item cole slaw, Daddy Joe's makes two cole slaw. One as a side item and a different cole slaw specifically for putting on the barbecue sandwiches. This makes a world of difference and it pays off...
