There is not much I can say about Govind & Sons and Gopal that hasn't already been said by so many others with respect to their honesty, compassion, dedication, and genuine regard for their clients. Still, I would be severely remiss if I didn't add just one more rave review to their well-deserved credit. Before I first stepped foot into the store, I had never even seen a diamond in person or held a ring in my hand in my entire life. Gopal patiently and meticulously explained all the ways diamonds are cut and graded and appraised and let me try on many rings and not for a single moment did I ever feel pressured or that I was just a "sale" waiting to happen. He even gave me tips on how I could save money if I had monetary restraints, and how to get the best value out of a ring without sacrificing quality or accidentally overpaying by putting too much emphasis on something like "IF" being a "better" grade than "VS1," et cetera. I walked out of the store that day already impressed and grateful. When I placed a deposit on the ring, everything was smooth and pleasant. Just a few days later, I received unexpected news of personal tragedy that completely changed what the ring would mean to me. I reached out to Gopal again and simply asked whether it would be possible to add an engraving to the ring. Without knowing my personal reasons behind the request, he responded quickly and kindly and said he could engrave the ring for me as I liked, provided the message I wanted to write would fit the band. I replied then that he couldn't possibly know how much that extra effort meant to me and I appreciated it beyond words, and his response was one of pure solicitude and humanity, for which I will be forever grateful. I was referred to Govind and Sons by a friend of mine and had the pleasure of meeting Gopal the owners son when I first inquired about their service.. I walked into their store and was greeted by one of their associates. I had a lot of questions as having a ring that I had needing sizing and a stone replaced as well as having it appraised. The ring meant so much to me and I was afraid to leave it with just anyone. It had been in my safe for years because it became to small. I realized I really missed the ring and wanted to have all the above mentioned done. Gopar came out and explained to me in depth all he would do to my ring assured me I would not be disappointed. When my ring was ready to pick up I went to pick it up and Gopal greeted me and presented my ring to me… I was speechless! It was more beautiful than I ever imagined!!!! I was so happy with their services and even told him I was so pleased. I never imagined it would ever look more beautiful than it already was. I thanked Gopal and gave him the biggest hug and told him that I would Definately be doing all my jewelry needs as well tell everyone about their wonderful services. He also shared with me before I left some of the beautiful jewelry that he was designing as well.. absolutely beautiful!!! I found Govind & Sons while searching for someone to reset a coin into a necklace. This wasn’t just any coin, it’s a family heirloom that was sewn into my great-grandmother’s sweater when she escaped Yugoslavia during the war. My grandmother had a bezel made for it, but I always felt that the original bezel took away from the beauty of the coin.

When I brought it to Govind & Sons, they were able to use the same gold and recreate a new bezel that not only protected the coin better but also let its beauty truly shine. I was ecstatic. I get compliments all the time, and it means so much to finally wear such a powerful piece of my family’s history.

During that visit, I also found out they do fully custom pieces. My mom and I had been searching for over 2 years for the right emerald jewelry to honor my late father, but nothing ever felt quite right. We came back together and worked with them to design custom emerald rings, and we are obsessed. The day I picked up my custom ring, I got two compliments that same afternoon. These pieces are so meaningful, as silly as it sounds I've cried over them. They carry deep sentimental value and will be passed down for generations.
