A little higher prices than similar food would command elsewhere. Service a bit slow, although congenial and cogent. Nice, pleasant atmosphere. Fish they prepare well, other menu offerings and accompaniments are not so tasty. YMMV Update downgrade to less than one widget: Vegan Thumb's Down I have several close friends and we go out to eat weekly taking turns picking which spot. Most of us like Bonefish Grill, personally I never have been impressed with any of their offerings although to be fair stick to their fish it is adequate compared to their beef, pork or chicken dishes. I preferred the far superior locally owned and operated Gainesville, FL restaurant, NW Grille for this sort of fare until I decided because of health concerns to adopt a plant based anti-inflammatory diet. The few times we have dined at Bonefish since the diet change, I have found no dish on their menu save a straight up salad I can order that isn't either loaded with or tainted by animal foods. I am inspired to report speaking to the waiter and then the manager about my dilemma they could come up with no good suggestions. It seemed to me their pasta dish without the protein (salmon, shrimp or chicken) with a commensurate dip in price could be nice ignoring the "creamy cajun sauce" which strictly speaking probably had dairy ingredients. I left the discount up to the manager, who reduced the price of the meal by one dollar! One of my companions had the same dish (plus the chicken), Italian, she was as unimpressed as I with the lack luster overcooked pasta, limp vegetables and insipid sauce. Portion size wasn't large for either of us, she didn't finish her meal, I was still hungry. The manager didn't return to check on my satisfaction level which frankly is well below one widget. Clearly Not...
Read moreMy husband took me here for my 33rd birthday specifically because they had lobster tail. Waited 20 minutes to get a table that was empty the entire time we waited...........while we waited, we heard the girl at the bar complain about raw chicken in her salad...........got sat, Got our drinks ordered which they were great! But when the waiter gave us our drinks, we were expecting her to take our order for our food. She just walked away instantly. Well no rush So we sat and finished our drinks. She finally returned to take our orders. I wanted the filet and lobster tail, she then told me they were out of lobster tail which i was severely disappointed, so both my husband and i ordered the filet with chimichurri sauce and asked both to be "Medium" for our steak. Waited 25 minutes for our meal to arrive and when it did, both steaks were way overcooked. Both were burnt on the outside and so chewy it could not be eaten. No pink whatsoever. The veggies, (Broccoli and asparagus) tasted like grass. (I understand they are veggies but did not expect them to be so bland.) The whole meal was terrible. It being Saturday night i also expected it to be busy and a wait but you as a restaurant should already know this especially it being a seafood restaurant. Prepare like you should. The waiter explained that she had talked to her manager and they were going to comp our meals and all we had to pay for was our drinks. That i was thankful for 100% but we would not ever return to this location. Horrible first experience. I've never had such a bad first experience actually. We love our food and new places to go but this will not be one we will be...
Read moreYesterday evening I ordered bang bang chicken and potstickers for my wife and ordered something else for myself. When I arrived, I received my food, looked through bag, everything looked right, so I left. I made one more stop and headed home. When I finally got settled, my wife and I started eating our dinner about 10pm or so to find out that we had gotten bang bang shrimp instead. We have two children that are allergic to shellfish and my wife may have a slight allergy as well but it hasn’t been confirmed. So, we just don’t eat shellfish in our house. When I looked at the time, it was 10:06 (Bonefish closes at 10), but I thought I’d call anyway to let them know what happened. The phone rang several times and I started to hang up but thankfully someone answered. I explained what happened and the manager on duty offered her sincere apologies and informed me that they don’t take food allergies lightly. She offered to send me a coupon in the mail, refund my purchase or heat the fryer back up to cook a fresh batch of bang bang chicken. This was the best option as my wife doesn’t eat much during the day and only would’ve had pot stickers for dinner. I felt badly having them reheat the fryers and expressed this to her, but she exclaimed that no apology was needed and she would be happy to accommodate our request. This customer service excellence is what I’ve come to expect from my favorite restaurant of over 10 years since the days of Tim Cudd, former proprietor and Eric Norfleet, former AM, who were in leadership roles there. I’m glad to see that the change of leadership didn’t change the excellent...
