Read moreMy husband and I decided to stop in a visit Diletto bakery on Saturday morning a little past 11am. The location is really good for the up and coming area of Gainesville. The parking lot is a little lacking and confusing, still not that big of a deal. The auto parts store is next door so I was able to pick up some wiper blades too so that was convenient. Anyway, when we walked in we were greeted by a very nice hostess and told the wait would only be a few minutes and she let us know to wait in a little seating area. While we were waiting I had a good chance to take in the vibe of the place. It was a cute modern-industrial rustic style, very “farmhouse meets city” which I feel is very much like Gainesville. There was a very cute chalkboard mural which I loved looking at. Once we were seated someone quickly asked if we would like some water, it took a few minutes for her to come back but not long, but she left again because she was very busy and could not get our order yet. The restaurant was very busy there were people at every table, people picking up to-go orders and coming in and out. The sound kind of bounced around the building (I am a little adhd so lots of noises like that really do overwhelm my senses but it’s something most people don’t seem really notice) causing me some anxiety but the open layout and good natural light helped with that feeling. A bit later another server came out and took our orders. I got the avocado toast with seasoned potatoes and a caramel macchiato with almond milk, and my husband ordered the steak omelette with seasoned potatoes and a regular coffee. The bread was just absolutely perfect and the avocado tasted very fresh. The avocado toast came with cherry tomatoes halves and mozzarella cheese and I added a fried egg. The seasoned potatoes were delicious and came with a wonderful dill white sauce to dip them in which was a perfect combination. They were very well roasted and the skin texture of the potatoes was just what you want with seasoned potatoes. I did not try my husband’s omelette but he enjoyed it and easily ate the whole thing. I loved mine but the coffee I had and all of the potatoes and bread, I definitely bit off a little more than I could chew. I will have to go back to try some of the other menu items because so many of them looked amazing. They desserts and pastries looked really...
Read moreI placed an order for cake and paid $52 for that, the next day I had to call to cancel that order and get a refund due to plan changes. I called on a Thursday at 10am, spoke to a really nice server who told me I could leave my name and phone number and the manager would call me back when they’re not too busy, I tried to call at 3pm because I still haven’t heard back from anyone, the sweet woman who answered the phone told me the manager had left and I would have to call tomorrow to fix this and that I had to get a gift card instead of a refund, I live pretty far from this bakery so I told them that I would much rather get a full refund instead because it was an expensive purchase, they told me I couldn’t get a refund due to the store policy, I looked everywhere for the policy on the website and it was nowhere to be found, and no one had informed me of anything when I got the cake so I didn’t know about that, they did everything to keep from refunding me until I insisted some more so just keep...
