My husband and I decided to stop in a visit Diletto bakery on Saturday morning a little past 11am. The location is really good for the up and coming area of Gainesville. The parking lot is a little lacking and confusing, still not that big of a deal. The auto parts store is next door so I was able to pick up some wiper blades too so that was convenient. Anyway, when we walked in we were greeted by a very nice hostess and told the wait would only be a few minutes and she let us know to wait in a little seating area. While we were waiting I had a good chance to take in the vibe of the place. It was a cute modern-industrial rustic style, very “farmhouse meets city” which I feel is very much like Gainesville. There was a very cute chalkboard mural which I loved looking at. Once we were seated someone quickly asked if we would like some water, it took a few minutes for her to come back but not long, but she left again because she was very busy and could not get our order yet. The restaurant was very busy there were people at every table, people picking up to-go orders and coming in and out. The sound kind of bounced around the building (I am a little adhd so lots of noises like that really do overwhelm my senses but it’s something most people don’t seem really notice) causing me some anxiety but the open layout and good natural light helped with that feeling. A bit later another server came out and took our orders. I got the avocado toast with seasoned potatoes and a caramel macchiato with almond milk, and my husband ordered the steak omelette with seasoned potatoes and a regular coffee. The bread was just absolutely perfect and the avocado tasted very fresh. The avocado toast came with cherry tomatoes halves and mozzarella cheese and I added a fried egg. The seasoned potatoes were delicious and came with a wonderful dill white sauce to dip them in which was a perfect combination. They were very well roasted and the skin texture of the potatoes was just what you want with seasoned potatoes. I did not try my husband’s omelette but he enjoyed it and easily ate the whole thing. I loved mine but the coffee I had and all of the potatoes and bread, I definitely bit off a little more than I could chew. I will have to go back to try some of the other menu items because so many of them looked amazing. They desserts and pastries looked really good as well.

Wow. I grabbed five treats to go from Diletto today for a friend's birthday. First, they were all beautiful, so if you want to to make a great impression, you can't go wrong with these lovely confections. Next, they were SO delicious. The little key lime pie was the perfect mix of tangy and sweet with a light graham cracker crust and perfectly toasted meringue. The chocolate mousse was the perfect smooth and creamy texture. The chocolate cupcake was good but the chocolate buttercream frosting on top may be the best I've ever eaten and the passion fruit cheesecake was sweet-tart perfection. There were several other things I saw that I wanted to get but didn't want to go TOO crazy, like macarons, a fruit tart and some lovely muffins. NEXT TIME...and there will definitely be a next time!

Christi and I decided to drop by Diletto's for an early lunch this past Thursday. Are server, Yeni, was kind and patient with us with it being our first time dining here. I had a ham and cheese panini, and Christi had the ham and cheese stuffed bread. Let me tell you, the bread on these dishes was some fo the best I've had. We decided to have desert, and I went with flan and a Cappuccino while Christi had carrot cake and a cup of coffee. Delicious. We are looking forward to our next visit to Diletto's, and I highly recommend if you live in and around Gainesville or are visiting to definitely check this wonderful bakery and restaurant out.

The highly anticipated grand opening of Diletto Bakery finally arrived!!!!!! In early December 2019 this family owned business located in the heart of Gainesville held their ribbon cutting ceremony inviting all as they opened their doors to the public. Diletto Bakery is what the locals have been waiting for and it is making a lot of people very happy!!!! They open at 6:00am daily and they continue offering their customers the opportunity to taste their deliciously good sweets throughout the day. Diletto's hours are Monday through Thursday from 6:00am until 9:00pm, on Fridays and Saturdays the bakery stays open until 10:00pm and they are closed on Sundays. Patron's tastesbuds are not only limited to the enjoyment of the delicious mousses offered in extravagant tropical flavors such as passion fruit, blackberry and mango but also creamy flan, tasty fruit tarts, delicate cannolis and other tantalizing desserts. You may also find a selection of Gluten Free items such as their very popular Sweet Potato Gingerbread muffin or Banana Pecan muffin as well as Cherry or Blueberry Tortes. These are prepared at a different facility to guarantee they stay Gluten Free. They also offer salty delights like "empanadas" which are corn flour treats filled with beef originating from Colombia, "tequeños" which are similar to cheese fingers from Venezuela, French breads and endless varieties of international delights that Diletto strives to offer as it's bakery's signature diverse menu and that is just nothing but amazing! We had the honor and opportunity to chat with Diletto's owner Mr. James Vélez, a great guy with a huge heart and love for his profession, who proudly explained to us what he and his wife Isabel envision for Diletto is to offer it's customers a taste of worldwide international products that every nation likes and loves but with their own personal "right to the point" touch and twist. This approach allows all to indulge in what they offer, and !oh boy, we believe that they are definitely doing so!!! As soon as you walk into Diletto Bakery you are welcomed by the insane aroma of fresh made cappuccinos and lattes that the baristas prepare right in front of you, on their machine directly imported from Italy or by the freshly made sweet and salty breads baked daily. It all just wraps your senses inviting you to taste any or why not, all of their products. The ambience of the modern industrial decoration of this place was well chosen and they hired the creative skills and talent of one of our local artists who uses his workmanship to complement what will surely become a place of enjoyment that you can't help but stop in and be a part of. Diletto is located across the street from Brenau University and near the Courthouse. It is becoming very popular for college students to hangout and study as well as for professionals to run in and grab a quick bite or for families as well individuals to come in and have a "sweet" time. It's parking area offers handicap accessibility and accommodation. Diletto has a very clean environment and it's owners were more than careful in choosing their staff who serve you with a sincere smile and kindness. They are sure to explain to you what ingredients are used in their various goods, which by the way are prepared, cooked and baked daily in their kitchen to assure their freshness. So, gather a group of your best buds and plan a visit to Diletto Bakery. You will find yourselves relaxing at any of their tables or lounge area; indulge yourselves by ordering perhaps a delicious bread with cheese, ham or jalapeño that may be accompanied with a drink of...I don't know...perhaps blackberry or mango juice? And why not? One can even decide to celebrate a loved one's birthday with one of Diletto's delightful pastries. Diletto Bakery will for sure, become one of the favorites on your list! So don't hesitate to stop by as they always have a table ready for you! P.S. To stay up to date with all things Diletto be sure to connect with them via Instagram @Diletto.Bakery or Facebook...

I placed an order for cake and paid $52 for that, the next day I had to call to cancel that order and get a refund due to plan changes. I called on a Thursday at 10am, spoke to a really nice server who told me I could leave my name and phone number and the manager would call me back when they’re not too busy, I tried to call at 3pm because I still haven’t heard back from anyone, the sweet woman who answered the phone told me the manager had left and I would have to call tomorrow to fix this and that I had to get a gift card instead of a refund, I live pretty far from this bakery so I told them that I would much rather get a full refund instead because it was an expensive purchase, they told me I couldn’t get a refund due to the store policy, I looked everywhere for the policy on the website and it was nowhere to be found, and no one had informed me of anything when I got the cake so I didn’t know about that, they did everything to keep from refunding me until I insisted some more so just keep...
