Red Lobster — Restaurant in Gainesville

My husband and I just got back from date night. Our dinner at this Red Lobster was absolutely fantastic!

We ordered the Lobster dip appetizer and were pleased with how good it was, and how generous the serving size was. It was quite tasty and whetted our appetites nicely.

I ordered the Wednesday special, Steak and Lobster with roasted asparagus on the side. I cannot say enough about how very delicious it was! My steak, medium-rare, was PERFECTLY cooked, neither over or under cooked, and perfectly seasoned. No need for any sauces or ketchup. My Lobster was beautiful and tender, no rubbery texture here from over cooking! The asparagus was nicely roasted and smokey flavored, and just tender enough to still retain a slightly crisp texture. I also sampled a glass of the Mixed Berry Sangria, which was good, but not my taste preference. It was tasty to try once, but I will order something else later.

My husband ordered the $19.99 Shrimp Sensation. He chose a cup of the Lobster Bisque, Dragon Shrimp (fried shrimp tossed with Sweet Thai Chili Sauce), and the always delicious Red Lobster Shrimp Scampi. He said the Scampi was as delicious as always, the Dragon Shrimp had a refreshinglyspicy bite, but that, while the Bisque was good, it was not the best he has had.

While the food and drink were great, the highlight of our meal was the wonderful service from our server, Mya T. She was very informative about any new items on the menu from our last visit. She was very attentive while covering the 5 other tables in our area with equal attention. They accurate manner in which she placed our order was the key to the delicious...

Our waitress and biscuits were the only good part of our experience. I ordered the surf and turf. Medium rare steak came out so burnt I couldn't cut through the top of it with the knife and the bottom looking like it was boiled in the sauce and not grilled. Asparagus was over cooked, the baked potato was ok but the extra money for the loaded option was minimal. The lobster was a disappointment, it actually looked like they cut the top that sticks out of the tail and took the rest of it and placed the top back on the tail. It was literally 4 small bites and the only part of the meal I finished. My wife's meal was the salmon, lobster, shrimp over orzo rice. The salmon was over cooked, rock lobster tail was good, roasted Brussel sprouts were still raw, shrimp skewer had a perfume flavor that was unappealing and the orzo rice was just rice that was so soaked in oil or butter that it was inedible. Needles to say we left without eating 90% of our meal. What was eaten by my wife was thrown up 10 min after leaving the restaurant and we have both been feeling ill into this evening. We are not the type embarrass the server by sending the meals back and know circumstances can unknown plus she was amazing!! Sooo friendly and attentive and they are lucky to have her as an employee! Beware of the small print that you can not take any of your food to go if you get endless shrimp. I have an eating disorder that I take medication for, I wasn’t able to eat much of my food at all. I spent a lot of money to eat there and planned on taking most of my meal to go because I knew that I wouldn’t be able to eat a meals portion at one time. I even ordered an extra side dish but I knew I wouldn’t be able to eat very much of it, I live hours away from red lobster so it’s not like I can go whenever I want. So anyway I was upset when I was told I wouldn’t get a togo box. So I had to talk to a manager. The server was asking everyone if they wanted more. So I kept saying yes but she really didn’t bring me anything I wanted except once or twice. Then she said the manager said that she couldn’t put anymore ship for me until I ate what was on my plate. So I really just wanted a box. I maybe had 15-20 small shrimp and some Broccoli. $100.00 myself, wife and a kids meal. I don’t like the fact that the print was so small about not being able to get a to go box, I don’t like that I had to explain my medical condition and the fact that I would have ordered something else so I would have been able to take my food to go because I can really only eat a small amount or...
