I purchased furniture from Martin Furniture several years ago and the experience was great but I went in yesterday and the two ladies behind the counter were less than helpful. I ask if they had any sectionals and she said "did you see the one in the window"? I told her I did but I didn't want white. She never offered to say oh we have catalogs you can look at to find what you are looking for she just turned to the other lady and they kept talking. Another customer in the store was more helpful than the employees. After walking around and looking I was still being ignored. You know everyone says buy from local businesses and I tried but the big box stores are so much more friendly and are willing to go above and beyond to help you in your search. Now I know why small hometown businesses go out of business the snobbiness that they have speaks volumes and I guess my money is not as good as others. I have been in the store twice in the last 2 weeks looking to order furniture for our new home in Braselton. Not ONCE, but TWICE when I entered the store the sales girls couldn’t be bothered to get out of their chairs and assist us! While eating their lunch, snacks whatever two of them could barley stand up from their desk to inform us to “holler if we needed any help!???’” The obvious lack of interest not only once, but twice let Me know all I needed to see. The showroom looks pretty, but without the warm, friendly staff they have had for years the help and love are not the same! Over the past two weeks I gave up, and ended up Finding some wonderful furniture at Brownlees Furniture near the Mall of Ga. Sales lady could not have by more professional, and helpful! My grandmother advised me to visit Mr Martin when I had a bad experience with my first couch purchase from sears I paid 1500$ and it was saggy in 2 years . I was told 3 years was all to be expected from furniture. My grandmother had the same formal set for 20 years so I asked her and she sent me to Martin's they treated me like royalty and spoiled me with such personal service for several hours being sure I was pleased , I fiance my purchase and they made that easy too!
