What a lovely coffee shop! Stopped in this morning to check out what Meadowlark had to offer.
Discovered a thoughtful menu with a variety of coffees from classic drip to espresso, Americano, Cortado and cappuccino. Try yours with a delicious syrup - mocha, salted caramel, lavender, honey rosemary and of course, pumpkin spice this time of year! The cappuccino with honey rosemary was an earthy, frothy delight with just the right sweetness.
There is matcha, chai and kombucha as well as hot or iced teas - both herbal and caffeinated. My steamy mint tea was warming and perfectly brewed.
Don’t miss the delightful fresh pastries. My pumpkin pecan galette was flaky, buttery perfection and the chocolate chip cookie (definitely a grown up cookie that would be perfect to munch with a creamy cappuccino) was full of chocolate chunks.
Meadowlark staff were very friendly and efficient, moving through a line of customers with smiles and getting everyone’s drinks together as a team.
We took our items to go. Indoor seating is at a premium with just two tables. So, grab your drinks before you head out to explore the Square!
Will definitely be back to try their matcha soon - and get the savory caramelized onion...
Read moreFor the craft coffee lover, Meadowlark may be the best shop in the state of Georgia and is certainly among the best in the southeastern United States. Despite being about an hour from the heart of Atlanta, this shop has a frequently rotating coffee selection (and execution) that rivals multiroaster coffee shops I have been to in cities like Minneapolis, Cincinnati and San Francisco/Oakland. On my last two trips in, I tried a washed Ethiopian drip coffee from Traffic as well as one from September, in addition to a single origin espresso from Brandywine. The coffee is always dialed in extremely well and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. This shop is worth visiting, even if out of the way. It is hard to beat and in my experience, always worth the drive up...
Read moreGreat experience here! The line seemed to move fast and while it seems like a busy shop, the employees were very pleasant & personable, and did not rush the transaction. I had an iced oat milk latte.
My concern when I try a latte at a new coffee shop is that it will be too milky and not lend enough espresso flavor. But the color and flavor were perfect! Wonderful espresso flavor and good quality oat milk. Service was fast too. Relatively affordable too! They had good looking pastries but I can’t speak as for the taste.
The baristas were very kind. I’ll be back whenever I’m in the area. The inside is very small with limited seating but you can tell they tried to maximize and utilize the space as they could. There were a few high chairs available...
