TL;DR: Customer service is really poor and the food is exceptionally overpriced for what you get. I felt disregarded and wonât be going back.
I see a lot of other people having similar problems to me regarding this cafe. I had been here once before and I was excited to go back and try it again, but was severely disappointed. To keep things concise, I was rushed to place my order despite the line being empty asides from me placing my order. I ask what teas they have and I get pointed to a wall, and then I got the earl grey iced tea and the vegan breakfast wrap. I was given my tea and told to wait somewhere else, like another customer, and asked if I waited outside would they let me know when my food was ready, and they responded with a yes. It almost felt like I was inconveniencing them by being there, but when a regular customer came in the staffâs entire demeanor shifted. Iâm waiting outside and itâs taking a while, but thatâs okay because I assumed it was made fresh so I didnât mind. I was going inside to ask for the restroom key and before I could even open my mouth to ask, I was told âweâre still working on your food we told you weâd let you know when it was readyâ. It takes a lot to get me mad, but at this point Iâm frustrated because of the clear lack of bedside manner and respect for the customers! I politely asked for the bathroom code and I was given a random number and no directions as to where the bathroom was. I went to the bathroom and somehow found it and then returned outside to wait for my food. I exited the doors in front of the area where you place your order and the staff saw me exit the cafe. I waited for 10 minutes and at this point I had been waiting 30 minutes for a burrito which is a bit extreme, so I go inside to check on my order and lo and behold, itâs sitting in the âpick up foodâ area. Mind you, because I was outside I had ASKED BEFORE GOING OUTSIDE if they could let me know just because I didnât want to inconvenience them by waiting outside, and I was told.that was fine. The food was lukewarm and not worth what I paid for it, and definitely not worth the experience. Itâs a shame that such a rad cafe inside and out has such a poor environment and customer service. Hope this gets resolved...
Read moreI always go to Maude's for school work and for the overall vibe of the cafe. The workers are always polite and super nice to me. However, I went today 12/2/2020 and ordered what I always order, and iced dirty chai latte and some food. After I ordered, I gave a cash tip and proceeded to wait by the door since it was not busy. I went to take a sip of my coffee and a male worker very rudely tells me to put my mask up and to go wait somewhere else. So, I put my masks up and went to walk outside to wait, because I respect the rules.
The coffee was just not good. It did not taste how it usually does and I was not going to say anything but I did and I told them I did not like it. Which I know is annoying because I have worked in a restaurant before, but I would of remade the customer the drink anyways because they PAID for it and didn't like it. That is the respectful thing to do, but instead he with out apologizing says "I'll give you some chai on the side". Then sets it down and walks away. I asked, "can you please make me another one?" He said no, unless I pay for it. So I paid for another one. He made the other one and purposely put too much chai in it to be a jerk.
Overall, it was extremely poor customer service. The male that helped us was very rude and had zero respect for us. I hate to say it but, this experience makes me never want to go back. Definitely lost a...
   Read moreGreat atmosphere but lacking.
For one, this place is incredibly understaffed. There was a long line when we first showed up and it remained for the hour that we were there. The cashier was also responsible for making drinks, and many of these drinks are flavored lattes and teas. There seemed to be only two people in the back working on food and on e again, they have an extensive menu for a staff this small. One worker was responsible for running food and dropped it off so quickly that by the time I opened my mouth to ask for salt and pepper, he was already gone.
The food was good but the portions were underwhelming. I ordered a tandem breakfast wrap, which should have had double the egg, and the whole burrito was the length of my hand. It had nice proportions of meat, cheese, and egg but even for a small wrap (at the cost of $8), the end bites were all wrap and no fillings. My friend ordered a breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel but they were out of everything bagels, not the end of the world. For his sandwich, there was twice the amount of bagel as there was the filling for the sandwich (similar to my wrap).
The drinks we ordered, cafe au lait and a London fog latte, were tasty. The London fog has nice hints of lavender but I couldn't taste any notes of vanilla. Regardless, it was tasty. I wish I had ordered a large but I was unwilling to spend $8...
