I have been going to UC for the last 10 years. I know the entire staff and performers. Iām always respectful and have NEVER had an issue there. Recently a āsecurity guardā by the name of Jermaine has been working weekends there. Ever since heās been working there the energy of the club has been different. It feels very hostile instead of inviting and fun. He walks around LOOKING for trouble. A few weeks ago he physically threw a drunk female out. Last night I was there with my best friend Amy. We go almost every weekend. It was 1am after the drag show and I was dancing on Amy. Doing absolutely nothing wrong; minding my business. He comes up to me and gets in my face and demands me to get out. I ask why and he begins to put his hands on me. Keep in mind Iām very confused as to why heās even approaching me. Iām literally just dancing. Iām not pushing, hitting, screaming, dropping drinks. Nothing of the sort. He then gets very aggressive when Iām trying to have a conversation with him and puts his hands around my neck and throws me out and was screaming at me whilst using profanity. He says Iām too drunk but Iām literally doing nothing wrong but dancing. We all go to UC to DRINK and dance and thatās exactly what I was doing. I will be filling a police report. I have attached a photo of what heās done to my neck. I will also be contacting UC management. I also have multiple whitenesses. This is absolutely ridiculous and I hope he gets reprimanded for his actions. Not only to me but to other guest at the UC. I want to go out to have fun, not to be constantly watched and feel uncomfortable and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wish I could give this place a higher rating, but do to a few things I've noticed I cannot... I've noticed that there is lack of communication within the management and the security team (the security team is wonderful though) that causes the atmosphere to feel stressful at times. Than the lack of AC used during some nights, makes it feel like a sauna and people have passed out from it more then once (I saw this happening 3 times in one night). The drag performances are amazing on the other hand, but I feel like people just don't respect that the performers need the floors open during their show (meaning I've seen people block off the stairs where some of them like to perform). Otherwise this place is a really good place to visit no matter your walk of life and sexuality. I'd just honestly like to see more then two security guards on shift at a time, so it feels safer and that way things are easier to be managed within the club, plus a sign on the front door may help some people know that the entryway is in the back of the building (I think this would also help security be able to do their job more efficiently as well).

Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen going to UC for years, never had a problem until last night. The doorman has always been a little hostile but last night he disparaged my friend and refused to let her in because she had just turned 21 and waited until right after midnight so she could get a green band. He claimed that she had clearly been drinking (she hadnāt) before midnight. After taking all of our money to get in, he refused her entry and we all left without getting our money back. Weird power trip and honestly the place is overrated, same music every week and the drag show goes on for too long when people just want to dance. Security also poorly manages the crowds and has a cliquey vibe and lets people they know do whatever they want even when theyāre causing issues, but people who arenāt causing a problem...
