This was the WORST experience I have ever had with ANY Potbellys EVER! I eat at another Potbellys once or twice a week
I placed an online order at around 830pm. I didnt think to question what time the store closed because it gave me multiple later options. I then received a call stating they were out of the soups I ordered and asked if I wanted something else. I ordered two different soups and chili. I asked for clarification, in disbelief, that they could be out of all three. I have someone go pick up the order and ask them to get something showing that they credited me back the amount of the soups. They could not show anything because it was an online order. I was upset given they had already processed the debit for the full amount. The manager on duty refused to put anything in writing that the money would be credited to my account and could not show anything in the system to prove it. At that point they were told to void the entire transaction and keep their food. BEST PART... They didnt have any of the soups because they had already pulled them for the night. Customer service isnt a priority. The employees are more concerned with getting out of there at 9pm on the dot. I refuse to give them any business and would rather drive further to deal with people who understand customer service. I wanted to share my DISAPPOINTING experience today at Potbelly @544N. Frederick Ave, Gaithersburg, MD 20887.
Potbelly used to be my favorite sandwich place for the past years, and I am not thinking to go back because of what happened:
After I got my sandwich and salad today and I went to check out. Cashier Ivonne asked what sandwich I got, so I told her "Turkey, Regular" clear and loud.
She heard me and she turned around and asked the girl who made my sandwich " what did she get?". And the girl confirmed what I said.
Then another customer (Caucasian, male) next to me was also at the check out. The other cashier just asked him what he got, did not ask the sandwich girl to confirm the answer, and went ahead to process his order.
After I questioned the way I was being treated differently. They threw away my salad and sandwich into the trash can in a very angry way in front of my face.
Anyone sees the problem here? I am being discriminated and treated badly. And the cashier Ivonne's attitude was very rude and unprofessional.
I am very disappointed and Potbelly you need to find a better way to train your employees. Learn how to respect each individual equally.

I came here tonight and ordered a chicken sandwich to go, I got home and something didn’t sit right with me when I noticed parts of the chicken pieces were dark and discolored. Chicken was dark, had gray spots, and looked spoiled and expired. I took out all the pieces and couldn’t eat anything. The broccoli cheddar soup looked very old and discolored also, very dark in color which indicates this store is using old product. This is not what you would get at Panera. Gave this place a try since I have not been here in a while. Very disappointed, wasted over $12.00 total and also could be facing food poising after they are serving this old, rotten chicken. The young blonde cashier also had a bad attitude and poor customer service, telling me to look at the sign when I asked a simple question of types of shakes. Never coming here again. I also have pictures of the rotten chicken which I will be emailing to the FDA to get this place inspected ASAP. This store needs a Food Safety Audit immediately!
