Panera Bread — Restaurant in Gaithersburg

I eat at this Panera ALL the time so I am very shocked about the poor customer service and believe that this could have been prevented if the employees from today valued respect in their workplace. I ordered and upon eating my food I noticed it was missing the main ingredient that was advertised and I kindly brought it to the cashier who checked for me and confirmed that it was not correctly made, but because he inspected the food with his bare hands I requested for it to be made brand new instead of adding it in, and I said this respectfully and the cashier was very polite about it. Then moving over to the food prep station the worker who was in charge of preparing the sandwiches started to go off and complain very rudely in Spanish knowing that I was standing right there and I understood everything because I am Latina myself. The worker stated “I don’t know what she thinks is wrong with it she already took a bite and she comes here to make me prepare a brand new one what’s the big deal over some little ingredient just eat it! I don’t know who she thinks she is go make your own sandwich then!” And to make matters worse the other 2 Latin workers standing nearby her at the food prep station were laughing. Then while I am waiting patiently in front of the station I hear the sandwich prep worker say in Spanish “she’s over here waiting for her sandwich well I had to make it all over again I don’t know why it was fine the way it was!” in the rudest tone ever, it was unbelievable to see how upset this worker was and that she had to speak so bluntly about her frustration with re making a simple order. I left feeling so embarrassed and even nervous to eat my food again. Panera… don’t hire people who obviously hate their job and don’t hesitate to let customers know. I hope it isn’t like this coming back this has been my go-to Panera since I moved to...

Two stars for the food: usually fine and as you would expect; a few times they’ve done something like giving us a sandwich in a you pick two that is mostly bread and little else, but that’s rare. We eat here frequently - they have a lot of nutritious salads and I like the creamy chicken and wild rice soup. Their oatmeal is also fantastic.

Minus two for service and one for the inconvenience their poor service causes: we always do a mobile order and they a l w a y s forget something on the order. Always. They’ve forgotten everything from cream cheese with a bagel to an entire sandwich. They also frequently mix their orders up. Especially soup. I’m usually not in a position to turn around and go back so refunds aren’t helpful. I’m not sure what the deal is - you can see they physically ticked off everything on the receipt. If you get take-out here you must unpack the entire bag, check that you have the number and type of items you ordered AND also check that the items are the correct ones. I usually don’t go at peak times so there’s no line or anything. If I find something missing I just go up to the prep area. Yes, they have attitudes, but most of the people that work there...

I just want to say thank you to this location I got really sick Monday with a stomach issue so I’ve been thriving off Paneras wild chicken and rice soup the first day i went the gentlemen was so nice just asking how i am and listening and it felt so good because I was in the hospital for hours before hand. Today I went and had super fast service from who I believe is a supervisor or manager I don’t catch her name she was a super nice black lady with glasses and from one black woman to another I appreciate her so much i ordered 3 bowls of chicken and rice soup and unfortunately i received cheddar and broccoli and due to my stomach I can’t really eat as much dairy right now so i called the lady remembered me almost immediately and quickly was able to find a way to have my soup delivered to me after I explained to her that I’m sick and starting to develop a small fever and I don’t really wanna come back out the house anymore I really do appreciate her service and I’m just thankful to Panera bread for helping me this entire week . Hopefully, I will find her name and I will post it to another review after this
