I checked in to this hotel for a six-night stay on January 6, 2024. I want to share some issues that I experienced during my stay.
The first issue is, I hung the Greener Stay sign on the door handle during all six nights of my stay. I checked my IHG One Rewards account, but the 500 IHG points have not been posted to my account for participating in IHG's Greener Stay program.
The second issue is, I noticed a sticker on the bathroom mirror in my room stating: "Forgot something?" As it just so happens, I needed some toothpaste and a razor. I went to the front desk to request these two items, and I was not pleased to learn that neither was available.
The third issue is, the quality of the breakfast and service have declined considerably since I last stayed at this hotel.
I was disappointed to learn that the breakfast buffet is only offered during the weekends. What's more, oatmeal was not available at the buffet even though the serving pot for it was on the buffet table. Also, I highly recommend non-dairy options (almond or soy milk) be available for cereal and drinking.
There was a serious problem with the various food servers during my stay. The first server, a female, was not very attentive and seemed more interested in her cell phone than the patrons at the restaurant. The next two food servers, both males, seemed like they were inexperienced and lacked training for working in the restaurant. Orders were incomplete, requests forgotten, and food served awkwardly.
Lastly, I was assigned a room with two beds, and the arrangement of them with the desk made my stay feel very cramped. The desk chair position and one of the beds made getting in and out of the chair difficult when using the desk for my laptop computer. With a guest sitting in the chair, passing between the chair and the bed is far too tight. Maybe rearranging the furniture can resolve the problem.
Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was less than satisfactory due to the...
Read moreIf you have allergies, read this review! This hotel does not offer hypoallergenic rooms. All of their rooms have four pillows on each bed I was told, and two of those pillows has feathers. When I made my reservation in the message box to the hotel, I mentioned that I was highly allergic to Down bedding. The employee checking me in told me they did not see the message, and I pulled it up in my email showing them the message on the reservation in their system. Anyway, they checked me into a room that I was told did not have any down in the room, yet shortly after being in there I was having difficulty breathing with asthma and eyes and face getting very itchy. We pulled the pillowcases off and sure enough two of the pillows on each bed did have down feathers. We left the room and went back to the front desk and spoke to the hotel manager. He showed true concern for my well-being, as well as the rest of the staff. They quickly made up another room and took out all of the Down bedding and cleaned everything well Afterwards to make sure there was a little dust as possible left behind. I did not have a problem with the new room, and went on to enjoy our short vacation. I am very thankful to all of the staff involved as they did everything they can and showed true concern for my health.
Nice indoor pool! The view from my room was a cement wall of their adjoining building, Although at least it was peaceful as the only other views would have been the main road. Also, the walls are very thin and you can hear everything that others are doing as you walk through the hall lol.
I didn't think in this day and age that there would be a major chain hotel with no hypoallergenic rooms for those with allergies!
If you have allergies and decide on this hotel, make sure to call the front desk on the day before arrival so that a room can be...
Read moreI stay at this Holiday Inn often. It is convenient, clean, and has a full restaurant. This visit was by far sub par and felt like it was under different management or no management.
What I like is that there is a restaurant and there is also a place near the front desk to get a salad or snack to take to the room. It is generally a clean and quiet hotel and I've not usually had any issues with it before this visit.
The breakfast had a line waiting for the scrambled eggs and they were very hard overcooked. The second day, no line but the eggs were overcooked. The rest of the breakfast options were just fine. You can order off the menu or just use the buffet. With IHG you can get breakfast with the room. I really like the buffet option as it is quick and allows me to get to work quickly.
I like to use stairs. Two fire doors were open. How does this make it through fire inspection? I've never seen this here before.
The morning I was to leave, a man came to the door to ask me if my room was to be cleaned today. He did not seem to understand when I told him I was packing to leave that yes he could clean it after I left. It was a bit frustrating to try to reiterate while trying to pack and get out.
There was a very drunk woman in the lobby on her cell phone that was basically yelling a story into her phone laughing that 'she was naked and describing some story about that'. There seemed to be no one managing the property to try to escort her to her room or out or to lower her voice. It was a scene.
I stay at this Holiday Inn more than any anywhere since it is for work. In general this Holiday Inn has been great but this visit, it seemed under different management or maybe no management. Perhaps the manager was...
