This place has good NY style pizza, but that's pretty much the only good thing I have to say.
I live nearby in a large apartment complex. I work from home and I am disabled, so when I order delivery, I expect it to be delivered to me.
It is a long walk from the front entrance, which makes it very challenging me for me to retreive packages, and I literally cannot come meet the driver during the work day. There are many signs and elevators as well as front desk personnel to assist in finding my apartment number, it is not hard to figure out and most delivery drivers are able to find it without issue. The lazy ones call to complain.
I ordered the lasagna, after having a tense back and forth with the driver on the phone, who for some reason didn't know my apartment number even though it was clearly listed in the address. Who called me while he was obviously getting out of his car, with obviously no intention to bring it to me, I had to ask. I did write out in the delivery instructions that i needed it brought to my apartment, why even offer a place for instructions if the driver doesn't read them?
The lasagna was literally the worst I have ever had. There were double layers of all the noodles, which were somehow hard and mushy at the same time. The meat wasn't seasoned, the sauce was sour, it was inedible. I contacted the restaurant via slice (the driver was an employee of the restaurant and NOT Slice the delivery app.) The restaurant offered to send out a new pizza in exchange for the lasagna, and I agree.
The guy gets here and immediately does the same thing, he calls. I am in a meeting, I text him asking to wait a few minutes or to leave the pizza. He did neither. I try calling back and he says he won't bring it back, that I have to come downstairs, which I cannot do. I say forget it.
I contact Slice again and while doing so my Leasing Office calls. they heard the driver shouting from the hallway and wanted to make sure I was ok. The leasing agent told me he stormed in and said the Leasing Office workers could have the pizza, that I didn't deserve it.
I have never been treated so poorly by a delivery driver, I am apalled. I shouldn't have to tell someone who is paid to deliver my food to me that I am disabled in order for him to bring it to me. I'm disgusted, I will never order from Manhattan...
Read moreIt has taken me 3 enjoyable meals to settle down to write this reveiw. Two were delivered meals and the third and most recent was a visit to the restaurant because I was curious about where these meals came out of. I had not intended to sit in but decided to when I saw the large space. I was pleased with the meals but wish they served water at the tables, wiped down their tables more frequently and had a waiter available for any needs seated patrons might have after they'd ordered their meals on entering the restaurant. The tables were not filthy but those few crumbs on the tables were tell tale.
The first two meals I had from this restaurant were Gyro on Pita bread - authentic tasting sandwiches with the gyro meat more in planks than the smaller shavings I am accustomed to from other restaurants. My most recent meal from Manhattan Pizza & Pasta was the Souvlaki Dinner Delight which comprised of seasoned beef, a small Greek salad, pita bread, tzatziki sauce, frenchfries, ketchup and dressing for the salad.
The meat in the Souvlaki Dinner Delight was well seasoned and flavorful although a bit chewy. The frenchfries were nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside; not greasy at all. The salad was excellent; fresh and crisp lettuce, tomatoes, purple onions, a pepper, an olive or two sprinkled with feta cheese. The pita bread was soft and a pliable. The tzatziki sauce was good; definitely acceptable by most standards. I love feta cheese and wish there was more with the meal. It was good to find food that was tasty and consistently NOT oversalted. The meal could feed two. I did bring the rest of my food home.
The salad dressing (vinaigrette) was confusing. It was an awful lot of oil with seasoning...lurking at the bottom that did not yield when stirred. I did not use the vinaigrette. This is definitely something for the resaturant to consider doing something about.
Whatever the shortcomings of this restaurant, the location, portions, and overall quality of the food made up for it. Good food, competitive pricing, and somewhere to sit if you choose to do so. In good weather you can cross the street to the Gaithersburg Community Museum and enjoy more of...
Read moreI don’t even know where to start, my last night in Gaithersburg, Maryland and I wanted to to treat my nephews and niece to a pizza and some Buffalo wings only for my hope to be dashed! I ordered an extra large pizza and 10 pieces of Buffalo wings and a cold drink. I even went to pick up 5 minutes before the time frame given me and the entire order was as cold as a leftover pizza and chicken the drink was not even cold. I called their number provided and the lady at the end of the line was very apologetic but when I went to the store to return the pizza, the so called manager and the entire crew were very rude and unprofessional! To the point where the manager was insulting me and even asked me to leave or he calls the police! I was not only shocked but livid and all other emotions you can think of. I told him,(the manager) he will ever regret treating me poorly like that! I’ll make sure none of my family members that live next door and my nieces college friends that normally patronize the joint will never go there again! I already told my niece who was with some friends and the even went on their review page told me I’m not the only customer they treat like that. I know it’s a franchise and he thinks that he’s able to raise the money to buy it so he can treat people like that!!! One thing for sure he doesn’t know who I am and what I’m capable of doing!!! Today, 09/29/2921 marks the beginning of his downfall!! People beware of Manhattan Pizza and Pasta in Gaithersburg-312 E. Diamond Ave, they are rude and their customer service is mediocre. The manager thinks he a still in Mexico or El Salvador or somewhere in South America and can be rude...
