I'd really like to see this place do good, but I also can't sugarcoat reviews and I hope the owner sees this and it helps. We never came here for breakfast, but figured out this was the old diner in Old Town when we walked into the bar. We loved the painting on the wall showing the old diner and the wife and husband who appear to be the owners were not only in the painting, but were sitting down right near it which was pretty cool. On the other hand it looked like their children or grandchildren were at another table on their laptops doing work with papers all over. Ya need to take all that in an office, if you want a bar that appears fun and attracts people in. They had a speaker that blared music in the street very loud and then you walk in and the bar was dead and not lively at all. We ordered beer and not only did they and also shots come in plastic cups, the bartender had to continue to pour out foam because the keg must've not been cold enough. Use glasses instead imo and it gives you a better image of not being so wasteful and maybe save yourself some money on serving colder beer which will prevent you from wasting so much on dumping foam. The last thing I noticed was the sign on the outside for Old Town Cafe was on the far left side which looked like a completely separate establishment from the outside, and if it wasn't for the blaring music on the right side and the TVs inside, we wouldn't have known it was a bar. It would've not been noticable in the daytime. Put a sign in the middle or even on the bar side so people know you exist. We ordered some wings and shrimp and they were pretty good. I'd order the old bay wings again because they were crispy but the hot mambo were rubbery skin and didnt taste like official mambo sauce. The bartenders were pretty friendly and were very attentive. I also think the inside looked very nice and really has the potential of being a good sports bar. I'm going to go back once more and order the breakfast because that sounds like what they were always known for. But maybe fix the signage outside so we know you exist, get some bar glasses, take work out of the bar because people want to leave work and come into a bar to forget about work and build a website and start marketing. If it wasn't for being down the street and Googling bars near me, we wouldn't have know you existed. Respectfully, I hope this helps and I will be back again to give...
Read moreHello , I am Sean Hardman to tell you of Old Town Cafe In Gaithersburg , Maryland. This is In the real Old Town In that area full of Restaurants and Antique Stores and More . Just beyond The Railroad Tracks . This Place Is On the Corner Facing the Railroad Tracks Near the Old Coffee House and Newsstand That has been shut down for years since Covid . as You Enter this Place It has a Old Antique Payphone . Way On The Inside as a Full bar area . This Place Is Run By a Spanish Family whom I care about . It has a great menu with subs fries and so much more even BLT sandwiches and more . the only downer about the place is there are apartment complexes above the restaurant that are a bunch kill joys that hate FUN . This place has Musical Live Entertainment and it has a automated jukebox. It has a somewhat open kitchen to show how they do their magic of making all the favorite foods we love and more . The staff are very welcoming . But I would love to work here someday to get bac to my Spanish roots. But id did suggest mixing the Spanish and American culture in their menus to give a Taste of Both worlds as a suggestion . They even have a great breakfast hours there too , Not Just Lunch and Dinner. This place has 18 HGTV's for watching all their favorite sports channels there while people eat . I would love to return that that place again sometime soon. I Love the acoustic live Entertainment there every summer . If I Love this Place I know you all will too so come on down to The OLD TOWN CAFE AND HAVE YOURSELF A TIME YOU ALL WILL NEVER FORGET . We Hope to see you all...
Read moreFood was made wrong. I needed a refund for my order. Ali told me that his machine was unable to do refunds over the phone. I explained I do not live close by that im 60 miles away from there. He didn't even try to apologize but instead tried to make it look like it was my fault for being cooked wrong. He said if you don't want something in your food you shouldn't even mention it when talking. I asked the lady who took my order, " Do your home fries come with onions?" She said no unless you ask for them. I said great. Can I please have Cream chipped beef over homefries with no onions but add in jalapenos. A friend picked up the order and brought it to us. Of course my meal had onions and no jalapenos. So he told me I should have not even brought up the word onion if I did not want them. So I could not eat my meal and he tried to make it look like my fault it was messed up and was unwilling to refund my card for me. He would give me a " discount " next time I wanted to order from them. Or I could drive the 60 miles back to his café for the $9 refund in store. Customer service here is 0 stars but I had to pick at least one star to write this review. I recommend to go to village green if anyone is looking for a great breakfast spot with great customer service. Stay...
