I mostly do reviews on food places so this is a little different for me. Here is my experience and thoughts on 305 N Inn.
Location 305 N Inn is located on the N Main Street. The location is very nice since it is between several good places and very close to the stores. What is also nice is the off the street parking. The Main Street had a 3 hour parking limit, and when tourists are abroad, it is nice to know you don’t need to park too far off the Main Street. So off the street parking and location is great.
Appearance 305 N Inn has a rustic feel to it. It does have some creaky wooden floors, which I think adds to the charm of the place. There looks like a breakfast area in the front but we did not take advantage of it. The room itself was nice and comfortable. It had a living room area and a small bed room area. There was a small kitchen unit which had a lot of the necessities (ie. plates, cups, silverware, etc.). It is nice to know that they are available.
Living room area The living room had a loveseat which we firmer the the couch. The couch was pretty comfortable. There was a ceiling fan which kept the air flow cycling. There were books and a tv/dvd player. There is also an emergency exit, which seem to lead to the outside. I am only saying this because we did her some people walking and talking while watching Harry Potter.
Bedroom It is a small cozy bedroom. The queen size bed does take up a lot of the space on the other side of the wall. It was a comfortable bed. They do provide an alarm clock, but I just used my phone for that.
Bathroom The bathroom is a pretty big bathroom due to a shower/hot tub in it. The tub is steeper than a normal standard tub. The hot tub seems to be big enough to fit 2 adults comfortably. The one thing that I might change is that since the tub is kind of steep, I would have liked some sort of stool to get in and out. Not a deal breaker but it would be nicer to be able to get in and out without too much hassle.
Service The proprietor was a nice person. He checked us in and answered any questions I had. He showed us the room and where to park. Checking out went smoothly.
Overall I had a great experience with 305N inn. What was also nice was that it was one of the places that did not make us reserve for 2 days during the Labor...
Read moreThe room was small but charming. The was a very strong must/smoke smell that filled the place. There was a dehumidifier, but it was full when we arrived so it wasn't running at all. There is a large whirl pool tub that is awesome, however the lights above it were out and the others flickered so much you couldn't use them. Had to rely on the two small, unscented candles. Would have been nice to have something more to mask the smell. Also be advised if you end up in the basement room, you hear every foot step upstairs. When I told the guy running the place the issues we had, he was full of excuses. Not an offer to look at what we were talking about, offer a discount, or even a single apology. He simply said that's strange and how just a few days ago he had changed light bulbs or emptied the humidifier. There was also advertised a patio. The basement room simply has a chair and barely room to walk. There are air conditioners covered up, so noisy you can't open the doors to air the place out. Wifi is horrible. Breakfast is non-existent. The place was cute but management ruined it for us. Definitely not worth the money and will not be returning. I have already told several people wanting to go there not to. Much better places to stay with a better price and management to make your stay in...
Read moreThe new owner, Jack, has put a lot of work and effort into this place. It shows and he's clearly got more improvements coming. I stayed here two years ago and it has improved a lot since then. It's clean, very comfortable, has lots of vintage charm with updates that make it a nicer stay without compromising the historic character of the place. Such a great location - the whole of Galena's Main St is an easy walk, you can leave your car in the offstreet parking that's provided. Unless you're leaving uptown Galena you really won't need it. Nice perk is a $10 breakfast credit at Big Bill's coffee and breakfast shop next door. Excellent food, nice people. Jack is responsive and helpful. This is a nice place to...
