I called an order in for carry out, it was our first time trying this restaurant. It took me forever to find it as there was no real directions on the website and google maps wasn’t super helpful. They had a sign hanging on the door that said something along the lines of “Masks are optional in this establishment, if that bothers you then find somewhere else to dine.” I should have turned around and left without picking up my food, as that was my initial thought after reading the sign. The food was downright awful and incredibly overpriced for the serving sizes. I ordered the Reuben house special and it was unremarkable, the bread was hard and it didn’t taste like Long Island dressing on the sandwich. The contents of the sandwich were piled in the center and I had to pull my sandwich apart and rearrange everything so I wouldn’t get multiple bites of just stale bread. The side of potato salad was pitifully small. My SO ordered the Petite Steak Dinner. We were expecting a smaller steak size, but the portions all around were tiny! The crab Louis salad was good, but it was only about a tablespoon sized serving. It came with a partially baked potato and no butter like asked. The menu said it came with a “cracker basket with side of pate and garlic Parmesan spread”, the crackers were saltines and the serving of pate and garlic spread was about the size of a teaspoon. So incredibly disappointed and will not be recommending it to...
Read moreFriendly staff; meteocre food and small portions for the price. Menu is very random, anything from duck to seafood to burritos and burgers. I settled on soup and a house salad and my husband a rueben. Reuben was okay, side of potato salad was a small portion. Soup was on the chunkier side which is okay but the sausage didn't seemed cooked all the way through so I didnt eat the chunks of sausage; was supposed to have bacon in it but I didn't find any in my bowl. House salad was disappointing. It was literally just lettuce and carrots with a slice of tomato (no cheese, eggs, croutons, etc that you'd expect on a classic house salad). Since we were still hungry we ordered a dessert in hopes the place would redeem themselves. The "homemade" mudslide brownie sundae was the most disappointing. It was a mini, chocolate Bundt cake, yes cake, not a fudgy, chewy brownie that I expected. It was dry, not warm as advertised and had two quarter-sized portions of ice cream alongside it. I hate to give a poor review to a small business but I really had higher hopes for this place based on the Google rating. We really only tried this place because it was one of the few restaurants...
Read moreI came in with my wife and youngest daughter for lunch and place was empty, but the service was slow and when I asked if we can sit in the empty back room I was told “no it’s dirty”.
I ordered salmon, my wife scallops and my daughter Mac and cheese + soup.
The portions were small but the entrees were close to $30 each. My wife loves scallops and when she only ate 2, I immediately curious. She said no they are fine but I knew something was not right.
She didn’t finish them and as for a doggie bag but then didn’t take it with her.
As we were walking the shops of Galena I could something was wrong. When I pressed her she said she feels really bad. 30 minutes later we were back in the truck driving home because she couldn’t do it.
When I called the restaurant to let them know, the person answering didn’t speak enough English to understand and put me on hold. The next person listed to me tell them what happened, how she didnt eat the food and left it in the doggie bag. I told him to not serve the scallops to anyone else to which he said “Ok thanks” and hung up…. Dine at your own risk as these people just don’t care or...
