We had 2 different experiences over the course of our weekend which varied drastically. Our first experience was on a Friday and the bartender was both friendly and knowledgeable. He answered any question we had and helped us select our wines for tasting and we couldn't of been happier. We ended up having a few additional glasses and even bought some bottles before we left. We enjoyed our time so much we returned the next day with 2 additional couples and let's just say our experience then was at the least less than expected. We stood at the bar for over 20 minutes watching one of the 3 bartenders cater to just 1 couple and never paying attention to anyone else. The older bartender kept ignoring all calls for help and managed to try and look too busy to help by carrying varius bottles here and there. The youngest bartender was pretentious as all can be and was so busy trying to prove his wine knowledge superiority to all that he rubbed numerous patrons the wrong way and had many leaving due to poor service. We waited for an additional 10 minutes and proceeded to watch him serve people who just walked up to the bar as opposed to those of us that had been waiting for ever. When my friend finally got upset enough and called him out about his behavior, he became extremely agitated and started puffing his chest about his right to do as he saw fit. We ended up leaving without purchasing the case we intended to buy and noticed many others as well follow us out. It just goes to show how important it is with whom you choose to have as the face of...
Read moreAs a frequent visitor to Galena and wine club member, I make sure to stop at Galena Cellars as often as I can! I love coming to this place with most recently being for my bachelorette party in September. (We were also the granny group from last November ;) The new visitors in my group loved finally seeing the winery I talk about so often. Tyler always seems to be working when I'm visiting and he does a great job while having a great sense of humor.
This place has everything - a cool environment, great energy, fun staff and AMAZING WINE! After coming to this place for the first time about 5 years ago, I couldn't even tell you how many times I've been back it's been so often.
Their wedding cake wine is my favorite!! My husband and I got married on 10.13.23 and we had a bottle on every table for our guests to enjoy as well. But really all of their wines are tasty!
I would highly recommend coming here to anyone and everyone!
Ps. I have been collecting wine bottles from here for years and used them in our engagement photos and wedding decor at the wedding. It's a small detail, but when a place means a lot to you something as simple as wine bottles can hold so many memories. I included a few photos taken by our fabulous photographer, Rachel Nicole Photography, as well as the decor vision I setup...

I enjoyed the 6 wine tasting at the bar...the Foxy was my favorite, but the strawberry rhubarb was a close second!
My only complaint is that we purposely stopped there at lunchtime on our way into town to enjoy their wine-battered cheese curds...only to find the kitchen was closed that day (they don't serve food on Tuesdays & Wednesdays in the off season)!
Unfortunately, that information hadn't been clear when I was looking at their info online.
Since we joined the wine club, we'll definitely be back! Look forward to tasting more delicious wines! Got a cute wine bag for being part of the wine club!
Update: This was our 3rd or 4th time...we live almost 2 hours away, but stop in when we can.
We've never been disappointed with the wine tastings...friendly & helpful staff. One of the mangers helped us carry our case of wine out to the car since my husband is a disabled veteran, which was a huge blessing.
This time we came on a Saturday in the peak season, so understandably parking was a nightmare & the whole place was packed & LOUD. Our biggest complaint is that we're there for date night & it was too LOUD to carry on a conversation. I'm not opposed to live music, but it shouldn't be so loud that we can't still talk...
