Drive thru was backed up so my great nephew asked if we could go in and order. He was celebrating last day of school with treating himself and me to DQ with his birthday gift card. We went in to an empty lobby. We stood at the counter for about 8 minutes. Finally someone looked at us and said "just a minute". It took several more minutes to come over to the counter and take our order. By that time 3 more small groups came in behind us. She took their orders before making our ice cream order. When we were finally handed our ice cream without a word to either of us she turned his blizzard up side down and then shoved it at him. I did not know they were supposed to do that but it upset me thinking it would get spilled, as rushed as she did it and not saying a word as she did it, upset me, and it barely had any topping on it because the top of the blizzard was just plain ice cream. I ordered a crunch cone. It was AGAIN handed to me hurriedly, and barely any crunch topping on it. I was very upset that what was to be a happy experience for my great nephew and me turned out to be a sad and unpleasant experience. After all he was quarantined at home for his birthday. He was looking forward to an enjoyable time, with his birthday money gift card. And to top it all off, after we got back in the car, his blizzard got knocked upside down and spilled all over his back pack, the car floor and him. It made me angry. Read moreHorrible service!! The parking lot was covered in ice, with only a few clear spots here and there. It was so bad, the car started sliding after I put it in Park and let go of the brakes. I almost fell getting out of the car. When I told the kid inside, (yes, he was just a kid) all he said was "yeah" and nodded his head. He looked pretty young, so maybe it was his first job and nobody explained to him about customer service, but this is just common sense, public safety stuff. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out. The next guy I talked to said he'd get somebody on it, so I went to the bathroom and came back to get my food. They could have grumbled or even refused to make my order as I got to the order screen right at 9:59, and I would have completely understood, but instead they made my 4 items with a smile. This simple act of kindness was more appreciated than normal because my family had gone through a terrible loss just that morning when a family member passed. She loved her sweets especially ice cream so it felt fittingto make a stop and grab treats for the family, butbwith thw stressful events of the day time completely got away from us.
