This building is full of history. Used to be a meat processing plant built in 1912. In 1979 it opened as the restaurant. It was one of the first building reuse projects in the country as that was not a thing back then. It was in all the major newspapers and even wall street journal. Still has the ammonia cooling system on the ceiling and the racks for hanging the sides of beef. Still has original cooler doors. Really a neat place. The food was ok. I had NY strip with mushrooms and gravey and mashed potatoes and salad bar. Salad bar was really nice. My steak was cooked great but it was blackened so had a little burnt taste and it did not say blackened on menu. Mashed potatoes were grainy more like smashed. Wife had teriyaki salmon and baked potatoes. The salmon was very good. Baked potatoes was good. Son had bourbon burger and onion rings. The burger was good but a little dry. The onion rigs were string onion rings instead of traditional. He did not like onion rings. It was expensive. For our meal it was around 83 before tip.

I absolutely love coming to the packinghouse! the salad bar is a must have! it is always VERY fresh, and there are a lot of options to choose from. I have tried many things off of the menu. The calamari is great! You wont regret trying anything off of the menu! The jalapeño chicken wraps to the meat loaf all the way to the steaks are great choices depending on what you are craving that day! Did I mention that the salad bar is phenomenal? I've tried many of the drinks here, and I love the long islands and I especially love their red cabernet sauvingons! this place is great whether you are coming here alone, with a group, or for date night! I could really go on and on about why you should eat here but I'd love to see you experience it for yourself! Tonight I had the pleasure of Alexia and Kolissa serving me and they are both great compliments to this establishment! They also were more than accommodating! 5 out 5 EVERYTIME!

Update: Never ever again. The chairs are worse than sitting on a 5 gallon bucket and hurt your back. Food was still good but the chairs were horrible and service slow while you sat in those chairs. The bathroom is also jankynfor a nice place. Too bad this old favorite is going so far down hill what a shame. Good salad bar and excellent lunch specials with the burger and potato bar on Saturday starting at 11:00 a.m. service is good. Many menu items not on special are a little expensive and the food quality average. They used to bring free bread but now you get once piece and have to pay for extra. The cinnamon rolls aren't as good as they used to be and the regular bread is average grocery store bread.
