I haven’t t been in town for a long time and didn’t really want to go eat at a chain restaurant. My sister mentioned Opie’s. I realized I knew the family from back in the day from The Watering Hole out at Oak Run and Cherry St. Now, Opie, the next generation in the family business is hitting a home run. We tried some appetizers (mushrooms, nachos, and cheese stick) and all were really good and generous portions with their own unique twist that turns ordinary snacks into something higher end. We also had the caprese chicken sandwich, chx strips, and beer battered pork tenderloins. All very good. The atmosphere is warm and inviting even from the street looking in. There are many cool neon signs and nostalgic decor from previous restaurants on the walls. You might run into Opie’s folks helping out and talking with all the customers. It really felt like home back in the 90’s. We highly recommend Opie’s....

Also dont appreciate being charged for mayonnaise for my husbands burger and the Ranch for the fried mushrooms.. who does that? When do we charge for condiments that typically come with food? I mean, food was good and plentiful. But, they already charged a bit for bar and grill food, to be upcharging, too. Yes, it was good for a bar and grill. Not good for business practices imo. I liked it. But, would not be a repeat customer. That is why...

Got a drink and began to look over the menu. It all looked so good, so I asked the bartender what her favorites were. She mentioned several things, one of which was the Cubano, so I got it. And boy, oh boy, was I glad I did. It was by far the best Cubano I've ever had. An actual pork chop, ham, mustard, and spicy pickles was a perfect combination for the best Cubano sandwich ever. I am just passing through, but I'm so glad I stumbled on this place. It's a local place with awesome service and phenomenal food at a VERY...
