My wife and I ate from there a few times since they opened. It was usually pretty good! Please note, we always just order over the phone and picked up our food at the window to eat at home.

Today; however, was different. The staff was kind as always, but the food was really not good. Like some of it was so off that we didn’t feel comfortable eating it as we were afraid it would make us sick.

The spring rolls and the ginger sauce for the salad both had this weird taste, like they had a hint of cleaning chemicals in them. It reminded me of something like 409 or dish-soap. The broccoli also tasted really off and after a couple of bites, we opted to not eat most of it and toss it out. The miso soup tasted like it had tea in it. It seemed edible, just not particularly good. So, I still ate that. The only two things that tasted good was the main course (luckily) our steak and our rice.

Everything else from the appetizers to the vegetables tasted ‘off’, like something got mixed in that shouldn’t have. Maybe they just cleaned some of the appliances in the kitchen and forgot to rinse it off before cooking our food? I don’t know. Could’ve been an honest mistake, just unfortunate that it ruined half of our meals especially when with a tip it can be be pretty expensive. We don’t get to eat out much so tonight was a bummer.

I have no idea what happened to the quality of the food there, as previous experiences were easily 4 or 5 stars every time, but today really put us off from considering ordering from this restaurant again.

It could’ve just been a bad night for the kitchen staff or something. I hope others have better experiences than we did in the future. I see the owner often reviews these comments. If they read this one, I would recommend reviewing the staff’s routine in the kitchen to make sure they sufficiently rinse down everything after washing and wiping them down with cleaning product before using it to cook with.

Nothing we ate seemed undercooked, which is good, just tasted soapy and strongly smelled like disinfectant or some sort of...

We came in for dinner. Great location. Well lit parking. Clean dining area. We had gyoza, crab rangoon, spring rolls, shrimp hibachi, chicken and scallop hibachi, and miso soup. All of the food was fresh and hot. Good sized portions, very delicious. The vegetables were cooked well. The meat was not overcooked. Everything had a great flavor. You get a decent portion for your money. There are bottled drinks and fountain drinks available. We will definitely be ordering to go sometime.

I had to edit this review because I just ate my leftovers... The leftovers are the best Japanese leftovers I have ever had. The Japanese fried rice is amazing.

I also want to add to those people who want to make comments about this place serving their food and styrofoam in having plastic utensils.. The prices are very reasonable for a hibachi and sushi restaurant. It is not fine dining. It is not priced as such. The food is high quality and you get great portion sizes. If you don't want to eat out of the styrofoam order your food and take it home and eat it off of a...

wouldnt waste your time. called and placed an order under my spouse name , my spouse waited the amount of time they gave to pick it. once my spouse got there they clamed that there was no order under my spouse name , my spouse even tried giving the number I used to call them to place my order and still said we dont have nothing. I called so many times to see what was going on and they kept letting it ring once or twice then it would go straight to voicemail once they did answer all they would said was that we placed an order with no name. literary was just going in circle with this restaurant . oh they also tried to clam that they was the goodlettsville location but i called the number google pulls under the GALLATIN location and even ask the MAN taking my order was this the gallatin location and he replied with yes....

Went in today to get a Crab Roll and an order of Fried Calamari. The crab roll is advertised as “Soft Shell Crab with cream cheese.” What I got was a roll with cucumber (I ordered this roll because I specifically wanted a roll that didn’t have cucumber, which I thought this was) as well as pieces of imitation crab meat. The calamari was given with no sauce of any kind and is the smallest, most rubbery, tough calamari I have ever ate and looks absolutely nothing like what is advertised. I thoroughly enjoyed the Goodletsville location, so this is very disappointing. If the goal was to keep me from coming back, well done, because I won’t be.

We LOVE Japanese food and order it pretty frequently. I was excited to try Japan House II since it’s close to my house. I’ve been eagerly watching the construction for weeks. Tonight, it was finally open and we ordered takeout. I was not disappointed!! The food was so delicious and it was so affordable. The staff was very very friendly! We ordered chicken hibachi and chicken teriyaki. I was particularly impressed with the rice. It was so soft and flavorful! Usually rice feels like an afterthought, but not here. I will definitely be returning and recommending it to my friends.

The prices are reasonable at first glance... saw sushi on sign but that seems to be an afterthought. Rolls are on the small side, and served on Styrofoam plates. Definitely feels odd eating sushi this way. The taste was decent, middle of the road. I got a spicy tuna roll and a salmon roll and it was $17. Chopsticks feel "icky" on the Styrofoam, no getting around that. There is potential here and the flavor was decent, especially for the price of 6.99 per roll, even if a bit small. Definitely go somewhere else if on a date. This is fast casual.
