In town to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Thought we’d give Johnathan’s a try. Walked in and the sign says wait to be seated, however there is no one there to seat us. After standing there for a few minutes, we walked into the bar area. 4 of Johnathan's employees walked by us or was standing talking to one another. Finally we had to initiate the conversation with them about getting a table. We ended up seating ourselves in the bar area. Once a waitress came to our table, we informed her that there wasn’t anyone up front, her response was that happens all the time, they never do their job right! Wow is all I can say tho that! This waitress wasn’t terrible but she needs to work on making customers feel like she wants them there. I think she was more interested in flirting with the bartender than doing her job. We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay and she brought the bottle to our table and didn’t offer to pour the first glass. Brought a different bottle than what was ordered, stating it was cheaper than the house bottle we ordered. I had to ask for the chill container for the wine and once she delivered it she just put it on table and walked away, I would think she would have placed the bottle in the container, she didn’t. Her service was other than good, I will say they were not busy! I believe we were her only table.
Now food. For the wife she got the Chicken Club Wrap. The way the wrap was cut it was impossible for her to pick up and she ate it with a fork. The tortilla was ripped down both sides. She said it was like it was wet. That said she did say the inside was good. Chicken was cooked well and was moist with good flavor. Her Sweet Potato fries were not done. Should have sent them back. Could have cooked for a few more minutes. I had the bone in wings. Garlic parm seasoning with a side of fries. Wings were cooked well but didn’t get the garlic taste I was expecting. Fries were just okay and lukewarm. Should have sent them back as well.
I can see this could be a good place to come to eat and hang out with friends. Some training. “refreshers “ might be a good...
Read moreMy husband and I came in for a visit with family, decided to go for a few beverages at this bar where the brother in law has been a local at. Night one we had a decent time no issues, paid our bar tab went on our way. Day two we made a return visit... just so happened to be there when the shifts were changing out, we gathered our bar tab from the bartender tipped her out and closed it out . ( should not be an issue correct? ) Wrong answer I guess! At the end of social visit there which was almost 1.5 hrs, it's time to settle up with the bar tab. We were presented with a tab for almost $200. which in case they said it was a partial tab from the night before..... that they "forgot" to include with the original tab that was PAID... nowadays how do you "forget" to collect on one tab? Keep in mind again... this was a single tab that all beverages were on. So in our minds, we paid three tabs that they combined all together. When we asked to view the bill they argued about the accuracy, we asked to speak with the manager to get an itemized receipt... no such luck! Our group of 4 ppl could not have consumed $170 worth of beverages in a matter of an almost 1.5 hrs between us there were 9 drinks served (after the shift change) our math points to that tallying upwards to the amount of maybe $80. Where does the additional $90 come from?! keep in mind, no shots or food were consumed. Again when asking to speak to the evening manager, he decides to kick us out and ban us instead of answering questions! EXACTLY what does this say about your staff? Happy, friendly...? Friendly enough to basically...
Read moreI am not much to complain, but we visited after reading all the great reviews and maybe we just got unlucky tonight. The atmosphere was really nice but the place was packed, we ordered two appetizers the pretzel and queso was good but the buffalo dip was cold and not super impressive.
No big deal, I couldn’t decide what I wanted so I ordered two entrees I figured I could take the other one home. The loaded bbq spud and the fish and chips, the spud was undercooked (couldn’t even poke my fork through it) and cold, the fish was almost rubbery and the fries were cold, not even room temp.
Kid didn’t complain about the kids cheese pizza it looked pretty good, my daughter got the medium sirloin with onion rings and same the onion rings were cold and the steak was basically beef jerky well done. It gives me anxiety to complain in person I was hoping the server would have noticed we barely ate anything but just brought the bill. I am assuming with how busy they were tonight maybe that’s why the service was bad, we had to flag people down to get service or a drink refill waiting 10ish mins almost felt like we were being ignored intentionally.
For $170 meal, $200 after tip (I always try to tip well, it isn’t the servers fault the place was packed or the food was bad) I don’t think we will be coming back. Like I said maybe we just got really unlucky but this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had so far in the...
