They don't support autistic kids.

Me, my 3yr old son, my mother, and my sister with her 8 yr old autistic son went to have dinner Thursday night at Anthony's. We ordered about 80.00 worth of food. My nephew is autistic and eats ONLY a few things so we bring his food with us because he won't eat anything else. We always order a drink for him from the restaurant however. People are usually very kind and understanding. However ANTHONYS is not! After we ordered and were already having dinner our waitress stated in a rude way "we don't do Mcdonalds here". My sister had explained that my nephew was autistic and would only eat a few things. The waitress ignored her comment. Once again it was explained and the waitress didn't care and went to the manager who also had a BAD ATTITUDE telling us he couldn't eat his food there. The owner Anthony restated the same thing not even listening it seemed. So we had to leave without finishing our meal that cost 80.00. What were they going to do, make an 8yr old innocent autistic boy leave or throw his food out!!! The owner Anthony then continued saying "there's a sign" and he "can't eat his food here". He claimed it was against policy to bring other food in and they had a problem with people doing that. We spent 80.00 and had autistic boy with a special diet. Do they just think all Navajos are cheaters. EVEN IF YOU ARE AN AUSTISTIC LITTLE BOY THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS AT ANTHONYS. SHAME ON YOU AND YOUR RUDE UNCARING STAFF! NOT ALL NAVAJOS ARE CHEATERS, POOR, AND IGNORANT SIR. DID YOU THINK AN 8YR OLD AUTISTIC LITTLE BOY WAS CHEATING YOU? LETS SEE HOW MANY LAWS YOU HAVE BROKEN ANTHONY. WE WILL FIND OUT. RACIAL PROFILING? DISCRIMINATION AGAINST SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN? You would think a business in 2024 would welcome ALL people and their special needs. ...

So I order from here couple times a week. Granted w the COVID stuff going around every business has had to make changes to accommodate to the changes and I think Anthony’s has done an outstanding job with the hand that has been delt to him and his staff. Cudos Sad that other patrons ruin a diners experience cause they are young and have to clue what manners are or respect. I was sitting next to two young guys that thought it was funny to give lip and attitude to the owner and staff saying things that they don’t know what they are doing and should get a better education and how he told off the owner and was snotty to the server who was literally running around. Then demands compensation for the fact that he had to wait for his food (kind you they had every table full and to go orders galore), when I counted from order to table delivery was about 17 minutes. Ive been a restaurant manager for many years for corporate companies and this was a situation that a young man should have been turned away especially for the fact that acting worse than a teenage child giggling as the server walked away made him look like a total idiot. Stated that they should be thankful he was there and need to get it in their heads the customer is always right then giggled again. If this is how you treat people then stay home. I want to praise the staff at Anthony’s. You all work very hard and deserve better treatment. Keep up the good work all of you. Anthony you have come along way over the years....

Manager Michelle refused to cater for our event for some unknown reason. Michelle & I had initially made arrangements over the phone, all we had to do was sit down and finalize (pay) it. When my family & I dined there, I asked our waitress to let the manager know we were there to meet with her regarding our recent arrangements for catering. At the time, we didn’t know who the manager was. (All we knew was her name is Michelle) She didn’t come to our table. So we asked again…and again. Total of 3 times. A couple waitresses tried to get her to come to meet us but nothing. We asked to talk to the owner, but they said he was busy. We paid for our meal and as we were exiting the restaurant, the manager was just staring at her shoe. She wouldn’t look at us. Another waitress told us her name is Michelle and she doesn’t know why she won’t talk to us. So at that point, we left. I called a couple days later to ask again about catering. Michelle wouldn’t talk to me. The girl who answered the call said she would get her but came back and said she was gone for the day. This was in the AM. I then asked to speak to the owner. Same boat. He said he would call me back regarding the catering, to this day I haven’t gotten a call back. He made all kinds of pathetic excuses for his managers’ behavior. It’s unfortunate that a place we favored turned out to be very unprofessional. To this day, I still don’t understand why the manager lost hundreds of dollars for the business....

We were traveling through on our way out west and stopped to eat dinner here. So the food was decent. I had the burrito with shredded beef, and the beef was pretty dry. My hubby had the carne adovada and a chili relleno and those were good and flavorful. The biggest issue was the fact that when we got our ticket they automatically charged a gratuity on there and didn’t even tell us. We didn’t even have a group or party, but a family of 6 plus my father-in-law. Typically you see this gratuity added to a party of 10 or more and no one bothered to even tell us this was their policy. My father-in-law paid with his card and left $20 on the table for a tip, unbeknownst to him that a tip was already added. I understand he should have checked the receipt better, but this is not common practice for most restaurants anywhere. The fact that the staff did not communicate this to their patrons is really shady, especially when an elder man offered to pay the whole tab for his family. I KNOW they know this is not common practice to add gratuity to a party of 7. We won’t be back to this establishment when passing through again- we are all about supporting local businesses when we travel but not those that try to pull fast ones on people.

Comforting, simple New Mexican favorites in a relaxed atmosphere - at a great price. Definitely a better option than the chains that dominate the areas near hotels. Pro-tip: if the server tells you the green chile is spicy, she’s not lying. It’s legit. We had a smattering of usual suspects including stuffed sopapilla, fry bread taco, tamales, enchildas and a chimichanga. They were all prepared nicely and reminiscent of our favorite spots back in AZ. The chiles were the star of the show. The red was slightly smoky and savory with just. a little spice. The green stung a bit, but had a great, fresh flavor that made you go back more despite the pain. Service was pleasant and efficient all-around. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed with a spacious, open dining room. Prices harken back to pre-inflation days. Overall, this place is a great value and a delicious local option.

I came here last summer and described them as average. I decided to give this place another try. During my last visit, I had three tacos. For this visit, I had the chicken burrito. It was not as crowded this time, so I did not have to sit outside, which really allowed me to see the dishes the other patrons ate and take in the aroma of the place. My server brought me the usual chips and salsa, and I ordered the chicken burrito with the green chili sauce. The burrito was delicious, and the green chili added some delicious kick to every bite. Anthony's is definitely not an "average" restaurant, and I'd eat here again.
