This place is an absolute mad house, before visiting this restaurant let me tell you of my experience. I pass through town a lot and my family loves a good burger so Grandpas Grill seemed appealing. We walked up to a group of intimidating homeless men sitting outside the front door begging for money, obviously drunk. If that wasn’t bad enough as soon as we got through the front door there was a homeless woman asleep, yes ASLEEP, on the front bench. Despite the obvious customer base of this place, we decided to order. Food came out burnt, but thankfully service was polite and fixed everything for us. Owner-or a lady pretending to be the owner, came out of the kitchen just before we were about to leave. She began yelling at service employees (whom all look underage) over minor issues while they were obviously all occupied. She then began cursing to herself as she played with the register at front. Mind you, me and my family are sitting across the place and we can hear her every word. I feel bad for these TEEN employees that have to deal with this woman, if you’re a real boss you stand behind your employees and teach them, especially at such young ages. I pulled one of the servers aside and asked if this was regular behavior and if that was really his boss. He replied, “That’s my boss” but didn’t reply to the behavior. I’m sure if he would have he’s be fired by now. This is not how you run a business, and definitely not how you run a family restaurant. I’m embarrassed to have to write such disgusting review but people need to know what they’re going to get when they visit Grandpas Grill. Save some money and go to Jerry’s or Don Diegos, both of whom are related restaurants that you will have a guaranteed good...
Read moreI had the worst experience here at grandpa's grill. I placed my order at the counter sat down and I was watching the workers work while my order was been made. I happen to see one of the servers. He was a young kid cleaning the light fixtures with a duster. I kept my eye on him because I was betting myself that he was gonna be the one to be bringing my plate. After the kid was done, dusting off, the light covers. He put the duster in his hand with the dirty side in his hand. and he was playing with the duster in his hand with the dirty side in his hand . So I watched him as he went back to the kitchen. And he came straight out with my plate.I know he didn't wash his hands at all.He even admitted it. I got so disgusted. that I just got my plate to go and left the restaurant. I love the food and grandpa's grill but after that I'm having second thoughts that was pretty gross.I had to send my plate back and get another one. Then I took it to go wow.And then the manager comes out after I ask for him and he has the nerve to ask me, if i am sure and I told him I was positive. it didn't seem like he liked my answer . This is sad they Need to train these kids more better and let them know how important it is to keep them hands sanitized after cleaning or dusting.Or whatever they're doing.I can't believe this happened to me here at grandpa's is grill. It's going to take a lot of convincing to get me to go back over there especially the way that manager acted towards it. So i'm rating...
Read moreWe were passing through town and looking for a place for lunch. I noticed a few men in uniform (military, police, firefighters) entering, and decided that locals who take lunch during work would know a good place for dining. We were greeted very graciously as we entered. We were informed that we place our order at the counter and then find a place to sit. Fun, interesting decor kept us visually entertained as we waited for our lunch. Very quickly the dining area began filling with families as well as individual diners. We ordered beef burritos that came on piping hot plates, completely filling the plate, and smothered in cheese and sauce. Both of us agreed it was one of the best burritos we have ever had--tender shredded beef seasoned to perfection (I didn't even add any salsa). The wait staff was attentive and pleasant. We had soda refills with our meal, and were provided to-go cups to take a drink with us on the road. For just pulling into town to have a quick lunch, we struck dining gold and had a filling meal in an adorably decorated environment. By the time we left there were very few open seats, showing the popularity of this little gem! We will plan our next trip through town to include another wonderful meal at Grandpa's...
