They tried hard, but I think they were a bit overwhelmed, possibly short-staffed. They mixed me up partially with someone else, giving me the right pizza but also handing me some other dishes I hadn't ordered, one being chicken and the other being inside a closed box, so I can only speculate that it was bread. This was minor and easily corrected.
They had also forgotten one of the two drinks I had ordered. Of course, it's always chancy to order drinks with your pizza; best to go to a gas station and buy your own, but at least I got one of them on time, and they did come back later to bring me the other.
Perhaps the most unpleasant thing was that they had not adjusted the cooking of the pizza to account for the double extra cheese I had ordered, and it felt a bit soggy and undercooked. I'm not sure how much that can really be held against them though, as deviating from a restaurant's standard recipe model always does have consequences. I'll put this as an 'improvement possible' rather than a true bad thing. After all, they did as I asked and put the pepperoni on top, so that part was cooked well. The rest isn't meat, so it should be safe enough.
Then of course there was the price. I used to be able to get this order for under twenty bucks, now it's nearly thirty. Other restaurants have done a far better job of resisting the absolutely stupid burst of inflation our government's poor policies dumped on us as a result of its 'wound shock' shutdown response to Covid.
Bottom line, this wasn't a true disaster, and they were polite, apologetic and determined to fix their mistakes, but it was certainly not an inspiring performance from one of my favorite...
Read morethe best in Gallup.. Great service, always friendly and quick. Cheerful delivery. I quit ordering from Pizza Hut, years back most of my family has due to there fight over who is allowed on which side of town and who you need to call to order from. Just nonsense. I've gotten food poisoning once from the northside pizza hut, just not good. I LOVE Papa Johns in Gallup, they take care of my family when we order always kind service and delicious food. Plus no waiting on delivery, no arguments of who we are allowed to order from.. lol...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I are on a cross country bicycle trip, we're currently in Gallup. We were hoping to have pizza delivered to the Red Rock State Park (6 miles away from papa johns) and were turned down twice over the phone. The second time we offered to meet them at a nearby casino 2.3 miles from the park, still turned down. I don't understand how a business that advertises a delivery service denies business from customers who would be happy to tip well for the request. Thanks...
