Do not try the burger at this place. This cafe doesn’t deserve a star, but google doesn’t give that option. I had the most horrible experience at this place. First of all the waitress would not come to take my order. I had to finally wave her down. After asking for her recommendation she admitted that prices for a side of fries were a bit high and not worth it. So I decided against it and I finally placed my order. When my burger came out, the bottom bun was soaked with grease. I reluctantly took a bite which I instantly regretted, I had to spit it right back out. I don’t know how old the patty was but it had an awful freezer burnt, Walmart prepattied taste to it. I kindly informed the waitress and I decided against re ordering because my friend’s order of nachos looked like slop. Upon checking out, a female approached us who turned out to be the owner and apologized for the burger not being up to my standards and accused me of being rude to the lazy waitress then informed me never to return. I was a bit shocked at first because she was out right rude and loud. I mean look Karen, if your going to be a business owner you should probably listen to your customers because that’s how profit is generated. Instead of taking it so personal. Your patty was disgusting. Like should i have to pay for slop?? It was so hard to contain my displeasure to her rudeness, but I eventually paid for my ticket. I wanted to return the attitude and pretend to break down and cry, beg not to be banned because apparently this was the ONLY diner in this town. But I decided against it and left. Save your money and do not eat at this diner. Try Dominguez or Don Diego’s. Anywhere else, where...
Read moreI experienced a delicious main course and caring staff. I visited for lunch with a friend. We were delighted by the authentic South West options. The spices and flavors were extremely impressive for a New Mexican restaurant. The service was above average. When we arrived at 12:00 p.m., we were told to wait for 5 minutes while they prepared the table. They were cleaning the table and chairs (disinfecting because of COVID) We ordered chili cheese french fries as a side dish. They looked tasty, the chili (red) was not to spicy but just right! We left a tip on the table and exited the restaurant with a smile. Overall, I enjoyed our experience. They did take the time to make the table ready, the main course was good, the staff was caring and the food was delicious. I’d love to visit again. I'd recommend it as a nice place to go with friends, family, or a partner. Do try their Mama's madness! The open kitchen window provides a clear view of the chef working in the kitchen. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouthwatering starters and main courses that will appeal to youngsters and adults alike. I had the Mama's madness with eggs over easy. My friend had the Huevos rancheros. Everything we ate was fresh and delicious. The restaurant also offers a wonderful drink menu. The owner seemed very warm and thoughtful. She came around to check on our experience and seemed to be authentically engaged. I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is delicious and the atmosphere...
Read moreFinally gave Mama’s Kitchen a try and was (mostly) pleasantly surprised. Our group split a burrito plate Christmas style and a chicken fried steak plate. The only disappointment with our meals were the hash browns both in the burrito and on the plate with the chicken fried steak. Call me crazy but I thought hash browns should always be crispy…these hash browns were not even remotely crispy, in fact they were almost soggy. The server later said we could have requested them to be made crispy, but it seems wrong that it would need to be requested. Everything else was good though. The beans required salt but otherwise we were happy with the food and beyond happy with the green chile. I believe it’s the best green chile I’ve had at a restaurant in Gallup. Delicious! Also, our server was very nice and attentive. Definitely...
