(full disclosure the bar owners are friends) she asked me to submit a review and this is an HONEST review based on my own experience on a saturday evening March 1st and a previous experience on new years eve. The things listed as “cons” are 100% meant to be constructive.
PROS: pop up taco stand on march 1st very good…note food is not served inside.
Security is attentive and courteous. Staff do great job at picking up glasses, and assisting patrons and bar staff.
Live music is great and the band Innersoul …was fun and had folks dancing.but dont expect to have a conversation during their set unless you really raise your voice its loud which is understandable.
Love their tvs and that they display sports! They also have a pool table and pinball machine and people were enjoying.
Patrons are diverse in age, ethnicity and “geographic” location. everyone there was truly enjoying themselves. I chatted with folks half my age (one young lady said she loved my “vibe”!) local folks and folks who came from lodi and sacramento just to visit!
Restrooms are spacious, clean and all gender. There are three. This is a huge plus for me.
Love the full bar and they have wine and champagne too which i love.
CONS. I fully accept one has to wait when the place is busy. I ordered a glass of wine. The bartender couldnt open the bottle she said the opener was broken. She disappeared apparently to find a working opener. She returned with another type of opener and still could not open. She handed the opener to the owner who finished the task for her using the same opener. She did apologize which i appreciated. So basically it took about 25 minutes to get a glass of wine while other people were getting their drinks. The couple sitting next to me recognized that and insisted on paying for my wine.
Bench seating comfortable but nowhere to sit your drink. They do have small “portable” side tables if u can get one. Barstools are metal tractor seats which are wide for folks like me who ARE wide in that area which i appreciate. but cant sit there too long before it becomes uncomfortable.
The bar counter could have used a wipedown every place i sat in bar was sticky.
Bottom line: This Tavern is an asset to the City of Galt and provides a welcoming environment for all. Owners and staff do a great job. With any new business there are bound to be a few kinks…but i definitely recommend visiting to see for yourselves. I will not hesitate to return and i hope the tavern thrives for...
Read moreFirst impression was ok. Man at the door was nice enough. The bartender was struggling with remembering drinks. Who hasn't been there?! Busy for a Friday. I wanted to show my friends the bar in town. We went for Friday night karoke. Started out ok. Place is small and not made for bigger groups. The seating is not comfortable. The patrons in the bar AMAZING! The staff? Horrible. I was ignored multiple times and passed over for drinks. It started to feel like our whole group was being over looked on purpose. Regulars would pop up and BAM drink in hand. It started to feel intentional in nature due to the group of people I was with. I won't comment more on that. This is disheartening to say the least. There was a woman on the other side acting like maybe a bar back? No eye contact, no I will help you in a moment. NOTHING! I mentioned something to the random guy that looked like he was the manager or owner not sure. He said we are understaffed. He was walking around! If you need staff HELP. I live in galt and l love galt. I wanted this to be our new spot.
Hope they work out the kinks, it has so...
Read moreI have been to this bar a small handful of times for their bottomless mimosas and each time I have been there the service I received was nothing but outstanding. The bar tender is ALWAYS so friendly and welcoming. Another thing I thought is awesome is they’ve had someone out bbq’ing when I’ve been there and they are cooking for their customers. When do you ever see that at a bar! Our town really needed a cool, up beat, CLEAN place for us adults. To just have fun, let loose and enjoy an...
