Absolutely love everything about this place, the food is ABSOLUTELY amazing, the staff is always so great and it's so cozy and easy to sit back and relax😊 They have such a wonderful variety on their brunch and lunch menus, whether you're wanting a more relaxed and regular kind of brunch or a fancy fancy one, they've got you covered! My husband personally really really enjoyed they're eggs Benedict with a filet and pork, and I had beignets for the very first time and they were sooooo tasty and light as a feather!! We will definitely be back here again the next time we come through for sure! Plus, the funniest thing was, was that we had an ironic encounter of sitting next to fraternal twins who were enjoying their lunch break there at the same time we were, while our twins were sitting in their high chairs right beside them. Wish we'd gotten a picture because it was just too funny! 😚 It is really tricky to get a parking space so definitely plan to walk a bit if there's no spaces in their parking lot because it is super small and always full to the brim, which is a good problem to have but frustrating when you're super hungry and just ready to sit and eat😂 I would be super helpful I think if they had a way to get on a wait list, kind of like what Texas Roadhouse has. Would make it a lot easier to wrangle kids without just waiting and them getting restless in the front area. But like I said before, it's definitely worth all of it to enjoy their home-cooked food. I think if it had been hotter and not windy we would've sat outside and that would've been really nice too as they've got a great little seating area outside under a gazebo. So if you end up going, which I highly recommend, enjoy and REALLY enjoy 😉

Behold, culinary enthusiasts and breakfast connoisseurs, for a gastronomic marvel awaits in the heart of Galveston – none other than The Sunflower Bakery and Cafe, a veritable oasis of flavor that has ascended to culinary eminence with a symphony of breakfast delights.

Let us first extol the breakfast menu, a cornucopia of epicurean treasures that beckons the palate to a realm of morning ecstasy. The Eggs Benedict, a sublime masterpiece, is a testament to the culinary prowess that resides within the kitchen of The Sunflower. Each delicate layer, from the perfectly poached eggs to the velvety hollandaise, dances upon the taste buds with the grace of a culinary ballet.

But lo, let us not forget the French Toast – a celestial indulgence that transcends the ordinary. The golden-brown exterior, kissed by the flames of culinary mastery, gives way to a luscious interior that is nothing short of ambrosial. It is a symphony of textures and flavors that leaves one yearning for an encore with each blissful bite.

As we journeyed through the culinary landscape of The Sunflower, the elixir of the morning gods awaited in the form of their delectable coffee. A sip, a revelation – each drop an elixir that rejuvenates the soul and sets the tone for a day of unparalleled delight. The berries, fresh as the morning dew, added a burst of natural sweetness that harmonized with the robust notes of the coffee, creating a melodic blend that lingered on the senses.

Ah, the well-seasoned creations emerging from the kitchen, crafted with hands that possess the finesse of culinary virtuosos and the warmth of loving dedication. It is evident that each dish is a manifestation of practiced skill and an abundance of affection, a testament to the culinary artisans who weave magic within the walls of The Sunflower.

The restaurant itself, a kaleidoscope of vibrant hues and tasteful decorations, serves as the perfect backdrop to this culinary odyssey. Bright, inviting, and exuding an aura of conviviality, The Sunflower creates an atmosphere where every meal is a celebration and every moment a culinary revelation.

In conclusion, dear epicurean voyagers, let The Sunflower Bakery and Cafe be your haven of breakfast brilliance in Galveston. It is a culinary utopia where the morning sun rises on plates of perfection, and each bite is a serenade to the senses. Indulge, rejoice, and revel in the magnificence that is The Sunflower. I was very excited about this restaurant because it looked delicious, however I have never been met with such a rude response to asking questions about a nut allergy in my 22 years of life.

My mom asked the host if he could answer some allergy questions and he agreed, then proceeded to guess at answers in a rude manor and claimed “I’m just a host”. I understand hosts often don’t know these answers and that is completely fine, but his attitude was hurtful. The second man who came up also was rude. Instead of listening to our questions and finding the answers to a simple question, do you use peanut oil, he proceeded to clean off menus and acted very annoyed. When asking if there were peanuts, pistachios, or cashews in the building, he said “it’s a bakery of course there are nuts” (I’m allergic to 3 nuts, so often certain bakery’s are safe, I also didn’t see any on the menu). He continued to blow us off.

Never have I been treated so poorly by a restaurant when asking about allergies. As soon as I walked out the door, I started crying out of embarrassment and the overall lack of respect I was treated with. Never has a restaurant made me cry before, even with rude responses. I have worked through so much anxiety to ask questions about my allergy in public because I hate having to be met with accommodations and am always nervous about a misunderstanding leading to my death. However, even when people don’t understand what I’m asking, I have been treated with respect. I can’t help that I have allergies and need accommodations as a protected disability. Some may say “just don’t go out to eat! You can’t expect everyone to accommodate you!” I do not expect anyone to accommodate me and I don’t expect every restaurant to be safe or even know the answers to my questions, but I do expect to be treated with respect. I worked as a server and know that if you don’t know the answer, you grab a manager. If they don’t know the answer, you kindly acknowledge that you cannot accommodate someone.

These two employees turned the morning of a girl excited to try some fresh buttermilk pancakes into the worst restaurant experience of my life. I pray no one else with food allergies has this experience. The saving grace was Yaga’s cafe who answered my questions kindly and treated my family with respect and...

I adore this place - def one of the top spots on the island to eat for my husband & I. It's one in the handful of spots that we periodically eat at on the reg... So many good things here. The bakery for one with all the fresh cinnamon rolls, cookies, cakes. The cafe with the fresh coffee, custom options, the cute coffee bar too & not to mention the fresh smell coming from both the cafe & bakery. The lovely outside seating in a garden like area, very back patio like vibe & covered in part on one side. The staff is always wonderfully attentive, usually quick & efficient - this place does get very busy & sometimes can be a wait but honestly it's because the place is great & popular & known for quality & I don't mind it therefore! - the food is just spectacular too man, I can't even with some of their food. The menu choices are a little unique too therefore & their bakery makes anything on their menu off of it just that more delectable being made fresh & in house. I know they're known locally for obliging eating preferences, food allergies, diet restrictions, etc. & for doing it completely without issue for customers who need that. Their chicken & waffles is awesome, I love their cappuccino, cinnamon rolls & cookies I recall. I know their biscuits & gravy is one of my top favorites on the island... I get the biscuits & gravy literally every time. I love the ability to go up to the bakery & grab fresh items as well.. I'm pretty sure a lotta folks buy the fresh items for pick up or to go a lot & pretty sure they have catering style options available as well for the bakery, I'm assuming the cafe also does larger & to go orders then too. I know they are more breakfast, lunch, brunch though & it's a place you visit earlier in the day for sure. The prices for what you get are super fair too... They're really wonderfully priced for the quality, taste & amount of food. They have a great local reputation & are often spoken of highly... It's a wonderful spot to try on the island with a unique flavor & great atmosphere. Highly...
