The theater is absolutely gorgeous and my daughter’s dance studio has danced The Nutcracker for years, never an issue. I’m aware of normal theater policies right now, however ridiculous. My issue was the rude and unprofessional ushers. We paid good money for multiple tickets at all three shows. Sat at all levels and different rude ushers at each. My daughter was there at 930AM both show days. To take her closed water bottle at intermission when she just danced for 6 hours was absurd. I offered to put it in my purse and that wasn’t good enough either. Then you need to search every purse that entered because people absolutely brought stuff in because NO CONCESSIONS. The mask policy is inconsistent as well and certain people were allowed to not wear them while others were bothered mid show. You’re ruining the theater experience and the magic of Christmas for these children. Why even be open? Shame on y’all. Extremely disappointing and an unnecessary distraction cr the gorgeous show...

I too went and saw BB King on Saturday night paid $75.00 for front row seats in the balcony. The seating chart showed a aisle in front of the seats which is does not have my shoes touched the wall in front of me and seating was horrible I had to get up during the show was so cramped up. BB King I felt sorry for he rambled alot and forgot words to song, and only played 8 songs and band played 2 so I thought $75 for this concert was not worth it at all. I did learn if you are going to go to the opera house make sure and get a end seat the seating is very tight in the middle section seats and do remember there is no aisle space on the front row in the balcony at all had to keep getting up for everyone that was going past us instead of the ushers having them go to the other end...

Beautiful venue, some very nice ( one VERY rude) people helping, but if you come during a performance geared for children. ( one which lots of schools attend) and you are just a family attending be prepared to be moved at their whim to accommodate other groups. We ( 3 adults and one 4 year old) were moved several times ( by a very unkind employee) to various seats as school groups arrived and they decided they needed our seats .We were finally put in a spot only one of us could see the performers.Of course we let our 4 year old get the viewing spot. We had paid admission like everyone else, arrived an hour early but it didn't matter. Never again Grand Opera House!!!!Very...

What can I say about this charming venue. Stepping through the doors is like boarding a time machine. Upon entering you are immediately transported to the 1800's. Reminiscent of Downton Abbey days. High, beautifully decorated ceilings. Yet despite the touch of opulence it's a very intimate setting. I've purchased high end seats to obstructed view seating and I have never had a bad experience. The ushers are very nice and helpful. The Grand is centrally located so there are tons of eateries in walking distance. If you haven't been, please make an effort to come. You won't be disappointed.

This was my first time to visit this theater and I was pleasantly surprised. My son had requested that we take him to see the nutcracker. I'm so glad we did, it was a beautifully performed ballet. It is a much more intimate setting than you get when seeing performances in Houston. I've also seen three different shows in NYC, one of those being at Radio City Music Hall and I found this setting much more enjoyable. I really enjoyed seeing all the children in attendance, all the little girls with their hair done and fancy dresses on, the young men dressed up, it was all very nice.

The Grand Opera House was built before the days of electrical amplification; built so voice and instrument carry throughout the 3 tiers of seating in a very pleasing and natural way. Very helpful that there are elevators and large and spacious bathrooms. In May the beverage bars are scheduled to be open again for wine and other assorted drinkables. Utilizing a large volunteer force helps to keep the ticket prices lower for such a dramatic and beautiful theater. Masks are not required but are optional and the shows are sensational!
