My wife and I recently stayed here the day before we left on our cruise to the western Caribbean. Our room was the "Kaiserhof" room which was upstairs in one of the buildings separate from the main house. It was spacious, clean, and had amenities. We were escorted there by the chef, Michael. Michael provided us with a map of Galveston with a focus on the historical district and “The Strand”. He gave us some valuable tips for navigating the area. The following morning, we enjoyed a traditional English breakfast. It was great food to start the day. It was brought to us by Mr. Graham George and we the had the chance to speak with him. After breakfast, it was time for us to head to port to embark on the Carnival Dream. James, the concierge, assisted us with our luggage and loaded it into one of their cars. My wife followed us in our car to their secured lot. Once we dropped it off, we headed to port. We had a great conversation with James as he took us to the port and told us a bit about Galveston’s history. He gave us tips on where to go and what to expect once we got there. Before we knew it, six days later we were back in Galveston. My wife just had to text them we had arrived and Graham came to pick us up. This service proved to be invaluable as it made our first cruise a bit easier. I would highly recommend The George Manor for a unique Galveston experience that has some English flair!

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying two nights at the delightful George Manor bed and breakfast. Its location was absolutely perfect - nestled in a quiet, historical neighborhood yet still walking distance to the beach and the lively Strand area. While I'm not much of a breakfast person, my partner raved about the lovely morning meal which included fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, potatoes, and bacon. The service and hospitality from the staff was truly top-notch. What made the George Manor so special was the beautifully manicured, gated grounds which provided a romantic atmosphere. The impeccable landscaping offered idyllic outdoor spaces to enjoy coffee or evening drinks. Our accommodations were comparable to a luxury apartment with all the amenities. The room was currently decorated yet still captured a comforting, homey vibe. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the entire suite oozed charm and sophistication. More than just well-appointed accommodations, the George Manor cultivated an environment that made us feel like we were staying with close friends rather than at a B&B. The hospitality created an inviting, intimate ambiance that's unmatched.

I didn’t want to give this place a 1-star review, but I feel it’s the only to ensure future guests get accurate information. The facility is in fact, very cozy if not a little tired due to its age. It’s obvious that Rosie and Michael work very hard to care of the place. Their service and dedication is admirable. If your stay is without any complications, it will be lovely. If you have any issues, dealing with the owners will not be pleasant. Just read some of their responses to other negative reviews and you’ll see how they treat feedback or complaints.

The problem with George Manor is with the White suite. The website says the bathroom is adjacent but is actually across the hall and completely separate. This isn’t ideal if you value your privacy as you will have to leave your room and greet your neighbors as you cross the hall. This is especially awkward in the middle of the night or morning when you’re just waking up. They do provide slippers and a bathrobe but if you’re self conscious about your privacy or appearance, this is not the room for you.

Unfortunately it was too much for my wife to deal with as she was recently recovering from surgery. We decided to check out early and I requested a full or even partial refund based on the lack of privacy and ambiguousness of the room description. The owners opted to treat me to a not-so-polite response complete with their interpretation of the rooms description and Websters dictionary definition of adjacent. The customer in this case, was not right and they blamed me for my lack of understanding thier room description. Not really what I was looking for but they did offer a room credit for a future stay, which I’ll never use of course. That hollow gesture and their terse response is why I give the one star review. If you are considering this place, do not take the White Suite if you are not prepared to have the bathroom separate and must use a key to open and close said bathroom as the latch on the door...

We and friends stayed at the George Manor for Memorial Day weekend. We decided to have a low key and relaxed wedding while there. Valerie helped arrange it and made everything very easy. | The property is so pretty and very comfortable. It’s not far from The Strand, but far enough away to be extremely quiet and peaceful. Though what really made the stay so fantastic were the owner and staff. They were amazingly gracious and went above and beyond for their guests. | We opted to have dinner there after the wedding and the food was absolutely outstanding and the service was perfect. Between our guests, we tried most of the items available and everything was fantastic. The potato soup, escargot, and shrimp cocktail for the first course were huge hits and it just got better. I definitely recommend the Rouladen, which was completely new to me, and so good. Several guests had the Rugen and loved it. All of the desserts were delectable. I don’t think there is anything that Chef Michael could prepare that one would not be pleased with. | While I never made it down to breakfast, everyone else raved about it and on Sunday, Graham, the owner makes a traditional English breakfast. My new husband brought a muffin to me each morning and they were so good. I sat in bed, drank tea (which was provided in the room), ate my muffin, and read in the quiet peace of the property. | No review of the George Manor would be complete without out mentioning Rosie and James who accommodated all of our needs with warmth and kindness. James is so knowledgeable about the history of the area, I definitely recommend a conversation with him. | Our weekend was so much more than we ever imagined and we will always be grateful for this wonderful experience. | I have a feeling, we will be back to escape the fast...
