Full disclosure: we travel to Vietnam often, and my wife lived in Vietnam for 43 years. The bread here is hit or miss. Portions not skimpy, but not knock your sandals off abundance. Last two visits our cilantro and peppers were fresh. Rumor has it the bread comes from Orient Market just down the road. Opened our sandwiches up to see how much meat was included. Just enough. Almost $8 USD for a 12" and I'd say that's fair. If you don't like the price you can always go....oh, right, there's no other place to go, so just pay the $8 and enjoy eating something other than the usual American sandwich. The rolls are very expensive, but convenience costs. FYI, the top ranked banh mi in San Francisco (we travel there often in addition to Vietnam) is about 40% less and 50% better tasting than Baguette Deli. So buy that $200 airplane ticket and $6 BART trip if you want the best of the best (insert sarcasm HERE). Tip: sit at Fred Meyer next door, they have a big comfortable dining area. Baguette Deli's bathroom is out of service and their small tables are put away; 100% takeout. Seems the boba business is Baguette Deli's strong suit. Overall not many convenient and fast Asian spots in town. My clueless friends who think Panda Express is "authentic Chinese" say Baguette Deli is "amazing". My friends who have lived outside Boise think this place has gone downhill drastically in the past 5 years. They have not returned, and we don't plan to either. Just make your own at home. I give...
Read moreUnless you know what Pho soup is really about, No restaurant that specializes in this soup will leave out the key ingredients. About 6 months ago, i went into there establishment on Franklin and Orchard to order there soup. As the soup was brought to my table, i noticed that there was no basil to accompany the soup which is what i always expect with my soup. I asked for the basil and they said they were out. I was going to return it but decided to go ahead without it. I did mention however they need to inform the customer when they are short an item which comes with the soup. They apologized and i left. Just today, my wife and i had went in again for the soup and again they took our money and delivered the soup again without the basil. I asked if they had basil and they claimed again that they were out. This time i said no and asked for a cash return. They refunded my money and i left and will never return to this establishment again. They are very dishonest and should not charge you a full price when they can't deliver what is advertised. If i could rate them a...
Read moreI usually love coming here for the pho. Today me and my husband ordered my usual pho and served my son since they serve large portions. As I was eating I noticed a bandaid on the soup!!! Yes a freaking bandaid!! I politely told one of the workers there, she took my bowl and gave me a new one. I couldn't eat the pho anymore knowing that band-aid was probably in the big pot they serve to everyone. The worker made it right by giving me a new bowl... But the fact that the pho came from possibly a big pot! I mentally couldn't eat it or even serve it to my son! I went to the owner and asked her if I could get a refund. She said since I already ate the soup she's not going to give me nothing! I showed her my bowl .. still full, couldn't eat it thinking about the band-aid. I asked her the band-aid could have been in a big pot a pho, I didn't want to make a scene, I was kind and courteous to her and she went from being nice to hostile. This went from being my most best place to go in Boise to the worst due to the way the owner handled it. I will not be...
