Sometimes when what you crave and what you hope aligns perfect, you're just happier. That's this NY Diner. A very traditional diner-diner sans the metal exterior. Really could be in Jersey (ah, but no Taylor Ham, thus "New York"!) Anyway it is lined with booths, and tables for larger groups, and the tantalizing cake tower behind glass; the register at entry, and scooting-about wait staff who are just interested enough to wait on you with kindness, and answer questions ('everything is good here'). And while our everything good was tough to choose from their ginormous menu, we chose a Philly Steak, and Gyro. Fries came with this. And perfect. Filled sandwiches, excellent textures, nothing chewy.. The Philly's torpedo style roll was incredible; light, crisp, and didn't fall apart. The tzatziki was so darn rich in just-right thickness, and perfect flavoring. And the darn fries. Oh we're fries-folks. Crunch! Crunch! This was our first, but we're in this area every couple weeks and while we're also enjoyers of Cracker Barrel near here, oh! Nope: we have...
Read moreStopped in for the first time after hearing that the food was good. Sunday morning, about half the tables are filled and there one lone waitress running her a.. off. More customers are flowing in as itâs now mid morning and church as let out. Still just Melody the lone waitress is doing her best to accommodate all the customers. There is an issue with the ladies room as the door as become locked some how. Woman are having to use mens room as who I believe to be the owner tells customer rudely to use mens room. At about 11:30 what appears to be another waitress arrives, goes behind counter, waves and then proceeds to go outside to make a phone call. All the while the coffee pots are empty, dishes are piling up on the tables and customers are still coming in. Melody is still smiling and pleasant to all her customers, give this girl a raise! Left and handed Melody a large tip and she was much appreciative. Sadly, we will probably not return. Omelettes weâre ok, decor is dated and owner needs to find more staff, for...
Read moreStopped on a Sunday afternoon to find this family-owned diner relatively quiet with only a handful of people inside. Interior is dated with water stained ceiling tiles, torn booth seats and a taped broken glass front entrance door. Place was overall clean, but could definitely use some TLC and updates. Menu offers an extensive selection of classic New York Diner food for breakfast and lunch, with made from scratch ingredients and family generational recipes. Our order was the Mediterranean Panini with grilled chicken breast, sun dried tomatoes, mozzarella and a side of sauce of your choice. Was disappointed that it wasnât the traditional Italian bread like Focaccia or Ciabatta with its grilled toasted texture and grill marks from being pressed. Instead, pita bread that was cooked on a grill. Had more of quesadilla look and feel to it. A good amount of chicken and flavor on the inside and fries were crispy and plentiful. Service was friendly, efficient and...
