Woefully disappointing! Asian bakeries are a destination for me. When traveling, I save empty luggage space to bring food back with me.

Around 7ish pm, 1/10/23 a late middle-aged, slightly heavy, Asian female employee ruined my bliss amidst baked goods. She stood quite uncomfortably close to me (especially with the JN-1 COVID-19 strain spreading like wildfire), staring at me up and down, close enough to study the stitching of my clothes, as I checked out.

She asked me why I didn’t use two trays instead of my good ole reliable reusable shopping bag plus tray for my two orders. She must have much greater dexterity than I, b/c while I’ll juggle several loaded dishes at a dinner, I can’t imagine successfully balancing two trays plus my own personal items while picking out pastry. At no time did she offer to hold another tray for me, if indeed, having pastries on trays is so essential. Had it not been very late, given I had to wake @ the crack of dawn to catch a flight after visiting my aunt in hospice, I might have had time to fill one tray and then go back for the other order. But after an exhausting, stressful visit advocating for my aunt’s safety and quality of life despite multiple parties who wanted to actively prevent me, I was already staying out too late to indulge in a selfish pleasure.

Through the entire checkout period, the appallingly rude employee stared at me, breathing on me. Even after presenting all of my pastries she continued to stare at my empty shopping bag. Upon presenting her with the one remaining item in the bag, an old paper wrapper, she suddenly cared about hygiene (no doubt as it involved her own health) and went to go get a garbage bag.

In retrospect, I should have just walked out, leaving the outrageously inconsiderate employee and the pastries. The breads were on the gluey, stodgy, heavy side, and the filling in the coffee pastry was a grainy, sugary, American frosting-like concoction. If I wanted this kind of painfully sweet filling, I would have gone to an American bakery, and doubtlessly received more gracious service. When I returned home, I learned I would have been told their products are too sweet, had I mentioned the bakery before setting out. Lesson learned.

Go to ANY Asian grocery store bakery before wasting your time and money at this establishment. You won’t be treated like a cockroach, as exemplified by this...

This review is purely for service. And mostly for one of the baristas. I was ordering a drink in the front. I normally get the sea salt coffee with 1/4 sugar, but today I didn’t want the sea salt foam, as my stomach wasn’t feeling that great. So I asked for a black coffee (or sea salt Coffee with no foam) with 1/4 sugar. The cashier put it in as an Americano with 1/4 sugar. Then the barista called me to tell me they don’t usually do Americanos with sugar, how much sugar should I put? After some discussion, I said just make the drink as you would with the sea salt coffee. (He mentioned the sea salt coffee has 1 shot of espresso, while the American has 2 shots). Anyway, he ended up making the drink with 2 shots of espresso and 1/4 sugar as with the sea salt coffee. Then drink was ready. And I asked if I can try it first (in case of further adjustments). The other barista asks him what’s going on, then he says “She asked for an Americano with sugar. I don’t know why”. To this barista- grow up and understand that people like their coffee in different ways. You’ve never heard of a black coffee with sugar and no cream? And be professional, and not talk about customers like that in front of them. We’re visiting to enjoy bakery goods and coffee/tea, yet you’re killing...

We would not order again. We are from Florida and we were ordering a coffee brûlée cake for our mom in California. In the order, we asked to have the cake delivered at noon. But the order confirmation showed that the cake would be delivered at 9am. Since my mom won’t be home at 9am, we called the store twice, on 2 separate days, and spoke to 3 different people, to make sure it would be updated in the system to have it delivered at noon. We were told they would update the system. On the delivery date, I got notified that the cake was on the way at 9am.. the delivery driver was told to just leave it at the front door if she wasn’t there. So my mom had to return home to pick up the cake. That was very irresponsible and just bad customer service. The cake itself was decorated beautifully, the taste was okay. My mom gave it a 6/10. We will not be...

If you’ve ever been to Taiwan, you’ve probably heard of 85°C, the beloved bakery and café chain known for its affordable cakes and drinks. What’s cool is that here in Southern California, the brand has made some subtle adjustments to better suit locals’ tastes, just enough to feel familiar but still distinctly Taiwanese. This particular location is tucked right behind OC Lau 2 in the Mall of Fortune where also with plenty of parking space. Here’s what we tried: • Mango Crème Brûlée $4.25 • Classic Tiramisu $4.25 • Coffee Crème Brûlée $4.25 • White Chocolate Strawberry Cup $4.85 • Tiger Boba Latte (Hot) $4.60 The cakes were tasty and not too sweet, just the way we all like them and at these prices, it’s hard to beat. An affordable place to hangout with friends or get chill with a cake and boba tea. Definitely planning to come back for more!

Stopped by to this pantry store to buy a cake for my son's birthday today. There were many selections to choose from. Beside the cakes, they also have the breads, cookies and other muffins with different flavors. The store was very organized and cleaned, staffs were very friendly and helpful. Everything they have here was freshly made in the store. So many cakes to choose from , and we finally settled down with the strawberry chocolate cake which my daughter favorite. We have been in 85c store and tried their cakes and pantries before , obviously we loved and really enjoyed their products.
