I am excited to write this Carrot & Daikon's 1000th review after having just finished my first C&D sandwich, while in line for a second!

I split the number 1 classic (đặc biệt) and the number 6 crispy pork belly (heo quay). Both sandwiches were packed with fresh and crunchy pickles and veggies. The classic was savory with a peppery bite, very generously layered with soft cold cuts and paté. The crispy pork was the opposite, crunchy fried pork belly with a sweet brown sauce and mayo. The classic definitely had more complex flavors going on compared to the pork belly, though both sandwiches were deliciously well rounded and balanced with flavors and textures.

Let's not forget the other critical component that can make or break a bánh mì: the bread. The bread is proper A1 bánh mì bread, a loaf that's thin and crackly under pressure but still crisp enough to scrape the top of your mouth in the hurts-so-good way Vietnamese sandwich bread should. The interior was pillowy soft, perfectly cradling the sandwich's precious contents.

There's ample parking, and the staff is exceptionally kind and welcoming. The interior is charming, featuring both indoor and outdoor waiting areas. The patio seating is a lovely touch, and they also offer Whip coffee, which is absolutely delightful.

I decided to try the crispy pork belly banh mi, and it was, quite simply, the best l've ever had. The pork was perfectly crispy yet juicy, offering a sublime texture that was simply mouthwatering. The fresh, vibrant toppings complemented the meat beautifully, while the jalapeños added a satisfying kick of spice. Each bite was a harmonious blend of flavors and textures.
