Sak Donuts — Restaurant in Garden Grove

I am not one to leave reviews but this donut shop deserves as much positive recognition as possible...now...I am embarrassed to say but secretly proud to be somewhat of a donut connoisseur guided by my mother at a young age. I moved to Garden Grove over a year ago and as fait would have it, I moved within 0.2 miles of IMO the top 3 donut shop in all of Orange County...if not the best. If you are a serious/regular donut eater you pick up on the the subtleties that make a great donut...the first category and the most important is the quality of the dough...it needs to be fluffy and soft at the same time not to "light" as well as not to "dence" and SAK donuts gets a 10/10 in that category. Secondly, they need to be CONSISTENT every time you go and this seems to be lost on most shops I have visited...and last but not least, the care you can see/taste that they put into each and every donut in which this place feels like each donut was made with care and not just thrown together.

I apologize for the long review but honestly felt SAK deserves the love I'm showing in this review because likewise they put so much time/care into each individual donut :)

Came in late at night because I was craving a donut 🍩 but DO NOT COME HERE ! I saw the pics and reviews had a lot of stars ⭐ so maybe in the morning 🌅 it's good but at night no ! 👎🏻🙅🏼‍♀️ We got a regular chocolate glazed round donut & chocolate twist donut and they were Horrible! 🤮😔 The donuts were hard and you can tell they've been sitting there for a good minute. They had very low limited options available and the guy working there was in the back alot and took a bit to attend us. We got our donuts and coffee. Coffee was bland too spent $5 total so not a big loss but definitely didn't hit the craving . If anything it made me regret it. Place looked dirty too not like the pics at all! && When we were leaving we noticed another guy came in to order but dude was waiting for a loong time and the whole time we could see the guy who works there in the back on his phone , and ignoring the customer. He had cameras in the back so they can see for customers and stuff but he didn't even bother to ask the guy if he needed help . This place was a no for me and I don't think I'll...

The owner is extremely nice and every time i come here to buy a half dozen or a dozen donuts, the owner always throws in an extra donut or two. Extremely generous! I love this place and will continue to come back for more!
