4 stars for service and atmosphere/decor. 3 stars for Pho flavor/taste. Since this is more cater to Americans, they often check and ask if everything is okay. As far as the broth - too salty. Even with lime. Americanize Pho is what I call it. I don’t mind tweaking it up a little from classic but it has to taste good.
Compared to Bolsa area Pho 79 and Holic - I still like the traditional Pho with brisket, rare steak, tendon, and everything in-between plus the most important thing whether good or bad Pho is the BROTH - which is superior and “perfect” like a home-made 100% authentic how Pho broth should taste like that’s probably cooked for endless hours with beef bones. And not salty. A huge bowl for the price of $13. And guess what, it tastes the SAME everyday, weeks, months, year, every time. Which is how it should be. They are able to hold up that quality standard that it does not taste bad or slightly different on one day, then good another day of the week. I appreciate I get the same taste no matter how many times I go. A good bowl of Pho there is so filling that you still want to eat even when you’re stuffed while a not-so good bowl of Pho make you want to stop before you’re full. But has to eat bc you’re still hungry.
A large bowl here is $19 which I never came across. That’s too pricey for a bowl of Pho that’s not quite reach expectation. Yes, we are Vietnamese who know what a good authentic bowl of Pho taste like. Again, this can pass for American/Caucasian and the rest foreign tongue but not quite satisfying to true Vietnamese eaters. Away from Bolsa area, this place can get away with that price of $15 regular - $19 large but hopefully, correct the broth please. I probably won’t visit again. Even for the flaming wagyu. But I hope they will do well after fixing the broth. Yelp/Google reviews sometimes aren’t entirely accurate unless reviewed by those who really know what good Pho taste like and especially when it’s one’s cultural food. That explained how I found this place due to the five stars but probably reviewed by foreigners. Sorry! I am quite an honest reviewer. But I want Businesses to take my criticism to correct so they can last a long time! 🙏
I’m aware everyone has different levels of “good”. But I’m sure I had tasted the best, I can’t...
Read moreSo I was in the area because there was this place in Garden Grove that also had good reviews. I left the original place because it was chaotic.
So I googled a Pho place and this place came up. It was late in the night so it was cold. Freezing. But my partner signed us in using an iPad in the front once we arrived. We waited for about 35 minutes and I was getting a bit frustrated (and cold).
But once we were called! Oh my word. I loved the customer service. I loved the ambience. I loved the food. I have tried Pho Noodles in a lot of areas and different restaurants but this place definitely takes the cake in terms of taste. I ordered the Pho Noodles with Rare Steak and the steak was like nothing I have ever tasted before in Pho Noodles, fresh and juicy! So juicy. So moist. So tender. It was like a party in my mouth and everyone was invited. The broth? Like none I have ever tasted. Flavorful. You can tell real work was done to make it as tasty and rich as it looked. The noodles (they give you the option of traditional noodles or thick) complemented the whole thing perfectly. So far the best Pho Noodles and Pho eating experience me and my partner have had.
My partner ordered Pho Noodles with well done Brisket and if I have to type all the good things she had to say I would run out of space! I tasted it too and just simply delicious. Fresh. Did I say fresh and delicious?
The egg rolls were also delicious.
The Flaming Wagyu Carpaccio was a new thing to me. But boy was it worth it! The show. The care. The attention. I got half of it medium rare and the other well done. The person that cooked them at our table was so kind. So patient since we were new. He really made the experience top notch. I wish I knew who he was! He even wished us a Happy New Year when we left! So hospitable!
What else is left to say but I hope the pictures do them justice. There are a number of Pho places nearby and in the city of Garden Grove. But you must try this place first!
Recommended and you will not be disappointed!
I normally don't give 5 stars for food, service and atmosphere but this place really...
Read morePho Akaushi RedBo has been on my mind like all the time now. Everyone has their pho spot you go to but have you ate pho with good o quality meat that melts in your mouth? It's near my gym so I'll be going here afterwords. Workout to eat more right?
Check out below my eats menu • Pho | with Wagyu A5
• Pho Combo | the works...thinky sliced rare steak, tender rib cubes, brisket & meatballs. All the meats are Wagyu except of the meatballs. If you like something loaded in your bowl, this combo is for you
• Pho | Rare Wagyu Steak We got the rare steak on the side so it won't get fully cooked in the broth. Best way to eat it. If you like it simple where it's not as busy as the combo, my go to is the rare steak. Plus side, it's Wagyu 😍
• Beef Stew | Served with Bread or Noodles I always choose bread. I love Bo Kho with baguette. I just love how the bread soaks up the sauce. It taste so damn good. I don't always want pho, so I like that there's other options as well. It's my second time I got this stew and it is still good. I will be coming back for this. It's loaded with big chunks of Wagyu beef with carrots.
• Shaking Wagyu Beef | with Bell Peppers, Onions & Rice Each bite of the cubes was flavorful. My nephew came with me and he hate it up. He helped ate everything up to be honest. He works hard at his baseball practice and working out, he deserves to eat everything.
• Truffle Fries You can definitely taste the truffle. I didn't add to my video but make sure to check out my story. I will add it on there.
• Thai Tea Comes in a bottle, serves two cups. Drink it all by yourself or share with your...
