TOSHI SUSHI — Restaurant in Gardena

As a non Cali resident I really relied on these google reviews to find a good sushi place that wasn’t too out of the way, was in a safe location and that could accommodate myself and two teens (not a bar) and found Toshi!! Our visit was in July just about a month after their grand opening when you’d assume would be a good amount of time to adjust and work out any business quirks. We loved how welcoming and friendly the server was (used to live in Hawai’i) with recommendations and attentiveness. Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs but we were not disappointed by the variety of fresh fish, prepared dishes and hot items from takoyaki, grilled steak, katsu, chawanmushi and specials listed on a board. Coming from Jersey, this place is a few notches up! I had the tonkastsu and it was closer to what I was looking for as authentic Japanese. What really moved me was the service from the waitress - she was so calm and genuinely polite when my 3 kids were making a mess (spilled water, food on the floor..etc) and even gave them a little sticker book each to keep them busy ❤️. And they even had plate/bowl/utensils for kids and gave out extra little mini toothpick umbrella for my little rascals. That’s love and patience when having to eat out as a family. This was a great spot to get some sushi 🍣. I'm still new to the area, so it was awesome to see this sushi spot and a ramen spot next door. Both were popular with plenty of people enjoying meals there. I was seated quickly and given a sushi menu in which you write how many rolls you want and a regular menu to see what dinner plates and appetizers they had. I ordered miso soup and hot tea while my boyfriend ordered Sapporo large and garlic edamame for us to share. They even gave small glasses to share the drinks. Lastly, we ordered 3 different rolls.
