New Gardena Hotel — Hotel in Gardena

Stayed here for a week. Really nice staff, very professional and formal.

Pros: -This hotel feels very safe. The staff are always there at the front desk to help you and assist you, and they are always polite. -Very clean. The cleaning staff are very kind and they clean the room every single day when you are out. -Free Dinner. The hotel provides a free bento dinner every night (except Monday night) with choices like Mochiko chicken, Ship grilled chicken, curry or salmon. Yummy and really nice extra perk. Also there are instant ramen bowls available for purchase at front desk, and Japanese drinks available in vending machines on multiple floors, cash only. -Proximity. This hotel is in easy walking distance to a large Japanese grocery store and other delicious restaurants.

Cons: -Pool is no longer in service due to Covid -Need to ask the front desk dtaff to refill water for you -No microwaves or coffee makers in each room. You need to go down to first floor to use the microwave. They provide coffee upon request at the front desk

Would I stay here again? Absolutely yes. I love the customer service, the feeling of safety and the cleanliness. It's very dependable and you have a good feeling staying there. Also the proximity to grocery store and restaurants is a huge plus.

Pro Tip: if you have a business, register as a member with the hotel, and you will get a huge discount on your room, especially if you're in a room that costs more than $130. Also, their room prices...

Great place to stay that is moderately priced. My husband, adult daughter, and I were visiting relatives during Thanksgiving week and the New Gardena met my requirements for a clean, comfortable room, safe neighborhood, secure and free parking, and helpful staff. There's also daily maid service which was a surprising change from every place we've stayed at since the pandemic.

We stayed in Room 614, a 2-queen-bed room. I especially liked the separation between the shower/ toilet area and the sink/dressing room. The dressing room area didn't face the beds for some privacy. You can request a quiet room in the back away from busy Redondo Beach Blvd.

There was a mini fridge in the room but no microwave. However, there was a microwave in the lobby as well as the vending machine area on each floor.

Although the New Gardena does not offer a free breakfast, you can get a voucher for a free bento box at the Happa Restaurant of Japanese Izakaya restaurant next door. You can only get a voucher during the restaurant's business hours. The bento box menu is separate from the restaurant's usual menu. This place is an absolute GEM!!! I recently spent a week in Los Angeles/Hollywood/Burbank/Anaheim for a vacation and wanted to stay somewhere close to LAX my last night and I am so happy I chose The New Gardena Hotel!!! I really wish I would've stayed here every night while I was in Southern Cal. The front counter staff are very friendly and treat you with respect and make you feel very welcome. Check in/out was a breeze. Very very very clean rooms, that have comfortable beds and pillows! I liked the little things they provide that other places don't like the underground gated parking garage, the great water pressure with heat lamps in the bathroom, and the wall mounted flash light right when you walk in your room. Very quiet hallways, and the other guests were quiet and respectful to each other. Great neighborhood and the hotel is only about a 10-15 min drive to LAX which is another bonus.
