Gardena Terrace Inn — Hotel in Gardena

We stayed here overnight in one of their whirlpool suites as a quick little getaway while in town visiting friends and family. While the room appeared mostly clean there were a good amount of items in the suite that needed attention. I.e. Broken Jimmy-Rigged mirror in bathroom, room smelled like cigarette, disabled smoke alarm from the previous smoking guest along with ashes in odd places like the night stand drawer, iron holder (no iron) and a cigarette butt on top of the door ledge. I understand this is a 2 star facility however the lack of attention to the cleaning of these items made us a bit unsure about whether we'd like to stay as we wondered what else hadn't been cleaned. Broken ice machine too, so had to buy ice from CVS. It's was a Sat night so we didn't have many other options and just beared with it as we brought our own 'smell good' and the linens did indeed look clean and freshly changed. Although we were unable to get another room, the guy at the desk was nice, did what he could and allowed for a late check out. The room itself had nice modern design, FIXTURES, fridge, microwave and Smart TV so no complaints there, it just seems the regular clientele beat up on the room (which they tried to make nice) and have prematurely worn things down. Hope they're able to get ahead of it. Depending on the rate I'd probably give them another shot while in town. There's a nice local brunch spot (Painter's Tape) that we tried after checking out of the hotel that we really liked. I'd say it's (Painter's Tape) a must try if...

My stay here. There wasn’t a security lock on the door,⚠️ you know what keeps the door closed if someone actually gets a key and can open the door, the lady told me after I complained and said it’s a safety issue for me. She said the phone works I can call 911 ‼️my friend. Which I thought wasn’t okay, because she should have moved me to another room with a lock. Second. I was given just one wash rag. 😣But I wasn’t the only person. The next morning, check out is at 11am. The lady at the front deck called me at 11:06 ! 🤦🏽‍♀️‼️Saying when are you leaving, check out is at 11… I told her I’m coming I was getting my bags together. … Most hotels I normally stayed in, gives a grace period when it comes to check out. They DONT call you at 11:05. I never been rushed. And finally one last thing that made me feel uncomfortable. Once I checked in, the lady at the front desk ask me too many questions. “ why are you staying here, what’s the reason for your visit”‼️ question after question. I felt like I was being interrogated by the police. And I have law enforcement in my family, so I know how they operate. Normally I go to hotels and it’s not a issue. I stayed at this hotel from January 26 to January 31, 2020. This hotel is a waste of money and a spoiled vacation and even health.||1. Dirty bedding, with hair and black spots on towels||2. After maid service, I found an empty alcohol bottle on the floor||3. Awful smell of tobacco, which even smelled of all my clothes. It was disgusting.||4. Several lamps in the room did not work and nobody fix it||5. Ironing board was broken and there was no iron in the room||6. Dirty carpet||7. In the bathroom, the shower gel dispenser was broken, another dispenser did not work||8. No water left in the shower||9. Water barely flowed on the sink||10. The clothes hangers were broken, there were not enough||Long story short, everything that could be broken was broken and damaged. ||But worst thing is the BED BUGS. Every morning, I found that he had multiple bites that still haven't passed. This is absolutely terrible. I feel completely disgusting physically and mentally.||After I contacted the hotel reception, the linen was changed only once. Although I asked to change all bedding.||I truly believe that I have suffered physical and mental harm.||I would never wish to enybody to stay at this hotel and spoil vacation...
